Chris, I don't have an AV8, but am working on a TV8?. Would post pics but it is in pieces throughout spokane, hoping to have it up and running this summer. Maybe i"ll see you around the spokane car scene!
This is one of my two favourite threads on the entire Hamb (the other is Rolf's build thread ). Some out of date pics of my build, which I'll update in a couple of weeks.
Get alot of looks, not a fast car, but alot of fun. 30A V8-60, 85hp transmission. Have set of factory aluminum heads and 2" dropped axle for later.
Mine with a 1951 Merc flatty. It's not shiny yet, but hope to get there. All the cars with the hoods have me wanting one. I may have to look into that! Love the thread!
Well I havent posted any pics of it yet, or even mentioned it on the hamb, but here is what I have been working on this winter. I started on it around the same time as Chris and was secretly racing him (in my head haha) however he is ahead of me now as I had to wait 2 months before I finally found a 32 K member. And when its done this body will be going on... It will be done for spring though, now that I have a K member i'm back on it full time. I pulled the 8BA out of my shoebox, threw a isky 400 in it, mallory dualpoint and A Weiand tri-power mated to a 39 box and will be dropping that in this chassis, right now I just have a mock up block in it.
Yep it is the same car! Last time I saw it I was at the Sacramento Vintage Ford and it was in there. I was kind of bummed out that the fenders were on although it still looks great, I fell in love with the fenderless version.
Damn.....jim campos that car looks great!!!!looks like I better get to work on my coupe. Jim luke your car looks great too.
