I just got this 33 DeSoto grille from ContinentalJohn here on the HAMB, the nerf bars are gone too. This is the grille that the Bluebird drag car had on it. The holes on the top match up exactly with the deuce radiator as do the two top side mounts, bottom mounts will have to be fabbed but not one extra hole had to be drilled to make it fit. The grill was originally chromed with most of it painted but the raised details left chrome, it would cost about a kabillion dollars to rechrome it. I'll take more pics later with a proper camera. Tell me if you dig it.
Nads, that looks great man! Of all the different grilles that people put on model 40's, that's one of the only ones that looks right to me, aside from the stocker. Nice, and a defin***e improvement!
That looks pisser on there. I saw that shell in the cl***ifieds, I thought it was a good deal considering how rare they are. Lets see some more pics of that coupe!!!
it's perfect, nads. i saw that grille for sale, and wanted it really bad. i am glad you got it and put it to such appropriate use. and it made me smile when you gave props to the bluebird...
Nads, it definitely gets the "****ster seal of approval". I never equated such a grille could look that good on a '34........HMMMMMMMMM
Glad you dig it folks, it actually kinda looks good with the nerfs too, the axle's all wrong though, it should be black or chrome.
Wow, I thought the Anglia grille looked good but this one is a big improvement. It looks "right" Nice change, man. Mike
I like it! Looks WAY better. We were jammin' the Big Jef in the garage the other night till the neighbors raised hell! Thanks for the CD. Later, Kevin
That coupe will be "legend" in the future...........Looking good, but do you have a side shot? Chris Nelson Kansas
Man... the Karachi Krusher will never be the same....I dug the Speed Queen. But Ill get a better look Sat.
hey nads ... huge improvement!!! the bluebird has always been one of my favorites mainly because of the grille!! that car is near me but youd never recognize the poor ol girl.. i think the nrfs go good with it...
i don't know man somethin looks wacky.... Lets park it over at my house and see how it looks over here.
The Bluebird was a beautiful, finished car, mine's a long ways away and the chop in person is really bad, this one is what it is, I hope to have her looking slick and straight one day. Dave, I've seen pics of The Bluebird these days, it's sad, she's lost all of her charm.
the 'bird isnt what it used to be for sure. but i am told the guy who owns it still has the desoto grille on the wall in his shop. there is 'potential' for former glory yet.
