Well everyone , I decided on the Ford instead of the studebaker ! I can get all the parts I need for this car ,and it was cheaper !!! Well the body got here this past tues. ,So luckily I had a good start on the frame and I could just hammer down on the body when it arrived !! I cut the top 6" yesterday . I have a good ol' 307 chevy motor to throw in it . Would love to have it done in about 3 weeks !!! Here are some pix. of my progress .

Good start. I like the body. You should post photos of the chop if you have some.
    Why a 307?

    2 Months Well Done Amigo!

Do you have any pictures of the frame without the body on it?
And a couple of frame dimensions?
I have found the rear end on a sedan has to be pretty wide, what did you use?

    Thanks

Yeah , I just get something in my head and want to get it done ! Before I forget ! I'm using a 9" Ford 31 spline axle out of a 70's ford truck . Fits perfect about a 1 &1/4" on either side between body and tire . Frame rails are 24" to outside with a 18" z at the back . set the body 4" below the top of the rails ,you know to make it sit on the ground . The body is 3" at the front and 4" at the back to the ground , should be low enuf ' Here is another pix. of the frame . went with 4 link set up and aluminum adjustable coil overs .

Here is the power plant ! Love the olds. valve covers (had to use them) , and I found a old set of ford t bucket headers , just had to move a couple pipes and weld on a new chevy flange .and a 57 chevy air cleaner with a little mod. Still thinking about a big old nasty intake , but with a pony keg to hold the fuel, I better just run the baby carb.

Your progress is impressive... I started a build on the same car a year ago, but had a job change that left me very little time to do anything but work and sleep. Your thread is actually inspiring to me. I am off for the first time next week and I plan on getting alot done on mine. Your car looks great.
