New year, new member! I've been lurking for about a year or so. This forum has been a great help and source of entertainment/ information/ inspiration in my rolling log of projects. Hope to post pics of my soon to be Daily driver '62 Comet 4dr soon! If I can dig up the last $300 to get it! Started out in '80 when my Dad bought me a '54 DeSoto Firedome 4 door sedan when I was 14. My first high school ride was a '65 Mustang, then a '71 vega with powerglide! Then a '55 chevy pick up, '71 gutless Cutl*** (only had a 350), 72 Olds 442, all in high school, then snowballed from there. Same old story. Now I'm a single parent with 2 teenagers at home, An ex that stopped paying child support just after I bought my house 2 years ago . But my kids are great, truly appreciate all we work for, and most of all really GET all of this! Bye the way, my oldest daughter's (25 now) first car was a '72 scout with a 345 and the loudest set of 10" gl***pack duals in town. She begged me for my '65 falcon. She's the best! Glad to be part of the family!
Sorry, but the falcon went last year to make a mortgage payment. THEY just don't get it! I went last week to look at a '64 falcon 4dr for her, but she is 6' tall and needs headroom and a fellow h.a.m.b.er has a sweet looking '62 merc monterey for sale...she might be in love! Is this how Dads are supposed to fix up their daughters?
Thanks for the welcome everybody! Especially from WI ! I spent the first 20yrs of my life there (Kaukauna). I still like to visit my sister at her cottage on Shawano Lake in August when it is too hot and humid in AR! If anyone is looking for a particular car let me know, I'm always running across way more stuff than I can store (or afford).
[QUOTE=Eb4P.{ But my kids are great,} Hello from central Oregon....glad to have you aboard.....Had two boys with me after the divorce and we built many fun projects....the last being the Wats ,on clone of "G****VINE" with my youngest son Tony, who p***ed away in a fire about 7 years ago.....the car is real special as he and I had two years of our time invested in the project which we finished in 1998....Plan to drive it till the wheels fall off ! Enjoy your time with your kids and help them all you can, dad!!!
