in the movie "harley davidson and the marlboro man" does any one have info on the bike that harley rode? any pics, who built it?
The bike was called "Black Death III" and was based on a Dyna. You should find all the info you need if you do a net search under "Marlboro man bike" and "Black Death III". Hope that helps!
there's even a company that makes repro's of that bike... black death cycles or something like that...
I was a FXR not a dyna harley, can be replicated cheaper than buying their version http://www.blackdeathmotorcycles.com/
One of the few FXR's that have a tasteful rear fender. If you notice in the scenes were Marlboro is doin a wheelie while the cute cop is chasin him the bike has a Narow glide versus the wide. -Jesse
the FXR was around long before the dyna. i had an 82 FXRS. still shovel head.....long before the dyna.

I got a question about that same movie and bike. Is the motor on that bike the real sounds ya hear in the scens where they are running it - or just revved up sound effects.....seemed a little too "hotrod" for a Harley to me. any one know its specs if it was the real deal?
Maybe a bit late...anyway,the guy who built the movie-bike is my friend Ernst Paulsen. He is a Norwegian who used to restore old Harley's and occasionally build bikes for movies when staying in California during the nineteeneighties-nineties. He has also built quite a few show and calendar-picture Harley's. ...well,just had to share it....
