I'm always amazed by how willing the older hot rod guys are to help the younger fellas out. I came to hot rods from a circle track background where speed secrets were closely guarded and almost never came for free. But all the gray beards I've met in the last four years have been quick to donate time, advice, tools, parts, knowledge, and guidance in general.

Dickster27 is one of those guys. Through several phone calls, and emails he led me through the until recently baffling task of setting up the linkage on my X1 intake. He even upgraded some of the stuff I had for free. A wealth of info and a great guy with a lot of patience, thanks Dick! Here's what it looks like in all its glory. I still have some trimming to do and a few adjustments but all six carbs are opening and shutting and that's a lot more than I had before I talked to Dickster.

Who makes that linkage, or is it home-made?

That looks awesome. Had a 6x2 intake in my Model A but only running off 2 carbs.

Thats beautiful. Is it progressive or do all the carbs open at once?

Its progressive, that's what those two set collars on the center arm are for. The two center carbs open about 60% before they open up the fronts which are also connected to the rears. And yes, they are all functional.

  14. Great looking setup. I'll be doing the same real soon I hope. Thanks for the pics.

I sent my Two '94's to the Dickster and he rebuilt them for me, packaged them up, sent my old parts also. They look and operate like brand new ones! Hat's off to the Dickster! He's the only guy i'll have doing Carb. work for me in the Future!
Class act, great guy(even though i've never met him in person!).

Here's a little bigger shot of my sedan so you get an idea what the setup looks like on the car. I had it on for Autorama Detroit but it wasn't running. It was going to be a bigger job than I thought so the 6X2 setup came off in March after the show and my old setup went back on to enjoy over the summer. In between building the new AV8 roadster and my job I'm trying to get this X1 working for the upcomming hot rod season.

Dickster built a 3 x 2 setup for me and its driving me crazy to run some fuel through them but theres alot of work left to do before I can fully enjoy them.
