Did I join the wrong forum? I thought hodrodding was build what you like and can afford. I read a thread yesterday and it confused me, seems some members are againsts sbc powerplants, disc brakes, radial tires, etc.etc. I guess they are not period correct Well I built hot rods back in the 60's and it was build the fastest and coolest with whatever parts you could scrounge. I still feel the same. I admire anyone who can build a 50's period correct hot rod But to me thats restoring no different than my dad did restoring model A's and T's If I could of came across a 502 crate motor back in 1960 I would have shoehorned it into my 49 chevy

Right forum all right! Just have to build a rolling piece of junk, call it a Rat Rod and you will fit in just right!

Yes! That's sort of what the site is about. You can totally still be your own individual while recreating the cars that were built in the bast.

Hot Rodding may be about building the fastest car with what you have but traditional hot rods are about pay homage to the cars of the past and the parts. But then if you have a 502 and disk brakes and you love it well then that's cool but that's not exactly what the site is geared towards.

This is the newer kinder, gentler HAMB...When I joined, people got their ***es reamed off for posting a car with billet wheels. people got ****ing reamed for posting off topic ****....People got royally lit up for even mentioning the words rat rod....So all you guys that are joining and whining about the direction and content of the hamb...STFU....or I'll PM germ and sick him on your ***es....

This is a traditional hot rod forum about preserving the history of hot rodding. NOT the latest greatest....

And just FYI....I like the go faster part of hot rodding, BUT...at least I know that this isn't the place for it. If you don't like it get the hell out of the HAMB....

And if you have any question about why these posts keep coming up, just look at the join date of the people whining about whats on this message board.

The HAMB is not a hot rod forum.

It is a traditional hot rod forum.

    Now shut up.

Seriously, does any new person actually READ the signup form? It spells out what this forum is about in plain jane monosyllabic english.

Go to http://hotrodders.com. You'll be much happier there.

This place is about building hot rods like in 1962 or earlier. No big block Chevys, no Mustangs, no Beatles music.
