lmao haha yes.. But its ok, Im not a redhead. ;)

I know you guys can get off topic. Ive done my fair share of looking around and found some interesting conversations back in 2008 about my mom and how beautiful she was and one guy said he dated her hahaha. Funny to hear the stuff.

Its ok we all fantisize. :)

I use to have lunch with Deano when he would come to Tucson. His dentist was a VW and they would trade work.

  5. Being on the wrong coast? Yea, all we had here was a guy named Ken Fisher...

Now all we need is some one to start building V.W. STUFF and re start the company or at least help the family out a bit by making some nostalgia T shirts to sell to V.W. fans. They have the name and there are alot of talented artist on here. Help her mom make ends meet. This was just my idea and was not asked by the family.

  7. They are actually but some things are let to ride for a little while. I would not be surprised though if this does get closed or disappear. I was a fan of the DDS parts and Mr. Dean Lowery when I was into the scene. I respect the fellas who were shutting down the V-8s while dragging in the 60's. Interesting the people who turn up on here.

ColleenEverette have you heard of http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/? There is alot of information and you may be just as well recieved there as here on their forums. Just a thought as this talk of your pops and grandpa is kinda o/t here pertaining to traditional hot rods we BS and talk about. Nice to have you here though don't get me wrong.-Weeks

Aw wow that would be really neat!! Just for the fact of the idea is just amazing! I appreciate the shout out! My mom would just love to get to talk to some people about bugs, but would probably be almost embarr***ed of what she drives now. My mom of course worked in the shop with her dad, and knows alot of info.. Alot more than I would ever know. I mean just maybe the sheer fact of maybe some people in Mississippi could hook up with my mom and just talk with her she would find it great! Dont really know that the VW thing is really big out here  Shes like the only one on the MS coast driving a bug :D

Dean was one of the VW greats. Allways willing to give expert advice if you listened. He started with Empi, then he and his brother Ken had DDS.
When he moved to Tuscon it was Deano's de Tuscon. In Phoenix he worked at home. He was part of D&D cylinder heads but soon went and went back to working at home.

My rail at Firebird the same night as the picture above. I went to him and said I wanted to go fast. A week later I ***embled a pile of parts and ran low 12s. It would of been 11s but the off road gearing was wrong for the 1/4 mile. Here is the same engine I installed in the dragster he had in Tuscon that I bought from him. He was running mid eights in Tuscon at Firebird I ran a 9.90 an was asked to leave because it no longer p***ed the new NHRA tech rules.

Here is the VW he was working on before his untimely p***ing. A Super Beetle set up for setting a land speed record. Koni coil overs, 2.9 liter VW engine and a Porsche 911 trtanaxle with appropriate gearing.
