So, as I stated in my introduction, I want to sell my recently finished Honda restoration and get a cl***ic from the 50s. I have always been interested in the Buicks, so I was thinking a '52 or '59. Tonight I was doing some calculations and measurements of my garage and I am limited to 223" overall length (minus 25" for my bench and toolbox) and 192" overall width (minus 20" for cabinets and fridge). The '59 won't fit and the '52 would be tight. Now I have to rethink what I want and what will fit. Any ideas?

Use lube, or get a bigger hole.

  3. Anglia? Topolino? Fiat? Build a street legal altered

  4. Willys Aero. Mine fits in a 10x12 stall with a shelf in front of it and a welder and trans behind. They're rare but available cheap on eBay. Or go with a Crosley or Morris or Anglia....there's lots of small 50's brands out there, you've just gotta look for them. Anglia g***ers always draw a crowd.........

    Good Luck!

You might want to set your sights to something a little older. 48 and older.I think they are a little shorter and for sure narrower not counting the running boards.

You only need about 156" to build an early Ford, 13' to most of us.....

    Altered Metropolitan ragtop.

    Hudson Jet coupe.

    Any junior series Nash.

Mini (the real ones, not the new BMW cars)

    Crosley Hot Shot

    Fiat Topolino

Lots of little cars to choose from that still have room for a human bigger than 5'6" tall.

How come old houses had small garages when large cars were being built. And newer homes have large garages when smaller cars are being built?

Yes, I think it's time for an A or T project.

And FADED, I've wondered this same thing for years. Hell, families back in the day had more children with smaller homes.

So when the contractor is finished building a building, why is it not called a "built"?

I had a 62 Caddy Sedan Deville that fit in my old garage with inches to spare on all sides, I hung a tennis ball in the front of the garage and let it hang down so it hit the hood. the car had a peak down the center of the hood and i just lined it up and drove it in. you couldn't get in or out on the p***enger side, and the drivers side was a bit of a pain but I got it in there.
