im debating on seats...i have a set of lexus buckets(freebies) the original frames and springs front and rear.considering 65tbird rear seat, my main concern is bench or bucket height ,im 6'1" and with the lexus seat and even with the tilt in my wheel its in my lap almost, heard of lowering stock bench,,in a dream world... a wrap around type rear with a flip down armrest(tbird i guess)and a 60/40 bench front(60s caddy?)but i need them low..i have 4" chopped 51' 4door by the way...any advise before i buy 5 frikin seat and sell all again....thanks

the lexus stuff will probably look out of place. For the money it could fetch you could get a nice bench, or set of earlier buckets... Maybe swiveling t-bird or mopar buckets... just a thought

  3. Are you going for a particular look or era for the car?

Mine had Honda buckets with custom seat brackets, height was just fine. I picked up front and rear seats from a 60s' GM, hoping they work out in my car.

    Tbird seats don't swivel,never have.

Here's a thread on a Tbird interior in a Shoebox.

If you stick with '64-'66 Thunderbirds, you'll have the wrap-around rear seat.
Most Drivers seats are power(front/back,up/down),sit low and if you're lucky,a reclining P***enger seat.

i will pound miles on this car.unlike my flatty tudor..i want comfort and dependabilty and the abilitly to leeeean back..one of the nicest shoebox fords was my late freind boosters, everyone has seen it .when i sat in his front bench i felt vertical then hunch over.i have head room but need to keep my legs comfortable under the colum.ill drive this car to vegas and down the coast often...i need some ability to recline..will cover tuck and roll low back preferable also..still would love 60/40 bench in front tbird back

ive used a bench out of a 61-72 ford f series. there not a split bench like the stockers but still work nice. i had one in my 50 and had a 4.5" chop and im 6-2 and it was perfect & there usually pretty plentiful at the junk yards...

Lexus seats???? GAY!!!!! Free elephant ****...is still ****!!!
60 Caddy bench isn't bad,but I always prefer stock. T-bird buckets isn't bad,if you want a 60's look. Depends on what you want it to look like. Cool...or GAY!!!! hahaha!

    Mines chopped 4 1/2",stock seats,and i'm 6'. Plenty of headroom.
