I'm looking at a '60 F100. It has the big truck 262 straight six, and granny low 4 speed. I was wondering if anyone might know what would be involved in swapping in a T5? Thanks, Barn-core.

Not too hard, you will need a new driveshaft and a modified bellhousing and other small parts. http://www.ford-y-block.com/truckt5.htm

The best junkyard T5 to use is a 1990-1993 Mustang V8 t5, next is the 1985-1989 v8 trans. least desireable is the 1983-1984 V8 Mustang non World Cl*** trans. If you want a new trans the Ford Racing T5-Z would be my choice.

Check the link in my sig. Lots of T5 info. I'm not sure what transmission bolt pattern was for your truck, but if it's the same as p***enger car, anything written about adapting the '49-53 flathead steel bellhousing should apply...

Does anybody know of any other possible swaps for these motors. Maybe a better 4 speed, w/o the granny gear, maybe a C4, or AOD?
