Hey guys....been snooping on this site for a few years...finally decided to join the fun more actively. I know a bunch of doods on this site and find that they are the kind of guys I like....grew up in Socal...right in the San Fernando Valley...cruised Van Nuys the whole bit. I have come full circle on cars and appreciate old builds and old paint...the more character I get...the more character I like in cars I guess. Thanks for having me...
Thanks buddy....ever since I have been poking around here....I realized I dont know as much as I thought I did....great to be here....will be an alliance member when I get a couple of bucks s****ed together...
Wow...am a little stunned by the warm response...gotta say I like it! I have a '56 Cad convertible...kind of a survivor car with one repaint....one family owned it from '59-'97 or so...trying to bring it back to life....this is when I first laid eyes on it...looks like it was staged...the guy had a mannequin on top of the car! Too weird...
Here is a pix of the car after a good wash....a little time with an orbital buffer and some degreaser....
Welcome to the HAMB!!! Why don't you come out to Van Nuys Blvd next Wednesday night? Cruising 2nd Wed of the month...
Reid...thanks buddy....have been out there since it started up again...I talk to Groucho all the time at Bob's Big Boy in Toluca Lake on Fridays...so I was there the first time it started up again...it was great. There is something great about seeing/hearing the cars go by....will make it out on Wednesday...but none of my junk runs....
Have I talked to you out there? I seem to talk to a lot of people, but don't always know who they are..LOL!! I was a cruiser in the mid to late 70's and up til 81...A little time away when I lived in Long Beach area 79-80...
Reid....got the friend request...thanks! I dont think we have spoken...do you man the VNCA booth? I cruised late 70s up till about '83 or so....remember going to a few street races on Raymer by the old Fedco...it was pretty wild. I bought a little Toyota Corona from Tony Noto...small world....he was also rumored to have the fastest car around when I was in high school though he was a few years older. All the slightly older guys knew of him...
Welcome from Newhall, Santa Clarita Valley. Chevy's rule! BTW - What's with the early 1980's plates on that Caddy?! Nice car though. Looks like a real survivor. Would love to see it at the next GM Show at Woodley park...even it you have to tow it there! LOL!
Roughneck...we sure do...we have almost the same cars! Mzchevelle....it came out to California from back east in the early 80s thats when it got those plates...I dont think it was ever driven in bad weather though...it looks just like a CA car....good idea on Woodley park! Thanks again for all the warm welcomes....
Hey Wicked...thanks...thats a '60 right? I missed out on one of those recently...thanks again for all the welcomes...
