  2. theres about a foot and a half of snow on my deck, my bbq has become a snow man, and theres about 8 inches of pack ice and snow infront of my garage.. thats on top of the -30 c for the last couple of weeks here and there.. and the worst part is that we haven't had the worst yet. the bloody snow is going to stay around till May, like it does every year.. Ah what i would do to have a few days of froozen pipes and more then 4 months of driving weather..

Spent 5 hours Wed night at a 2 alarm fire in 30 below wind chill weather. Water and wind blowing in your face the entire time. Masks frozen solid, radios won't work and firetrucks completely covered in ice. I don't know how the boys in the Northern States can handle it. Been on the job 17 years and never felt cold like that. On the upside, garage is heated and welding the brackets on the 40 banjo that is going in the Henry Roadster Saturday morning. "Stay Cool"

New hampshire has milder winters than Iowa. :D Been thru em both. But the actual great white north puts us both to shame.

I was implying a lot further north than Kansas. We have a foot of snow on the ground, and wind chills are supposed to be -50 below tonight. It's not Canada but it ain't shorts weather either!

I wouldn't mind the cold if there was enough snow to ride my snowmobile. Every storm so far has skirted by me.

I can honestly agree with you! I'm in Georgia and we got some of that crap too. Pissed me off because I thought it was raining crack for a minute- really sent me through a loop when I tried to snort it!

That's a neet trick the weather guys use when it gets -20 below. It doesn't work to well at 18 above.:D

    Take a look at this.....

  11. Usually -10 Celcius to minus -40 celcius up here for a lot of the winter. We go out and about in that weather like it was summer. I barbeque all winter long. I don't know how I would ever get anything done on my cars if it didn't get cold in the winter here. My shop is heated so no problem. I wouldn't mind getting away to the south for a month for a break though. But that is just because I am lazy and wouldn't have to work on anything for 4 weeks. You adapt. If it is too cold, don't go any farther than the shop. Works for me.

  12. You can't really escape the cold this year. Its getting down in single digits here in Alabama with snow and iced over roads. My sister is in Tampa and says its cold there.Of coarse, cold in Tampa is probably 40-50.My daughter has to stay with me because all of her plumbing is frozen.

I lived for 4 years all over Montana. Learned a lot about working and living in the cold. Some people here think I'm crazy with the things I do, but I'm not cold.

HA HA, went to northern Missouri last weekend to get 24 Ford TT, Bitched the whole time we were digging it out of a snow drift @ 1 degree above zero. That was like summer compared to now, -32 with windchill!

I realize when we have cold mornings like this just how old I am getting. My ankles, knees, and back have all been sore for the last month. We didn't get gas service in the house we started this week until Wednesday so my nuts are still trying to thaw out.

Yeah It's cold here in TN too. About 25 degrees colder than normal. Wind chill around 5 degrees today. I feel for you guys in the great white north. It won't be above freezing here untill next week. A buddy that is a striper called and I went with him to stripe a 57 Pontiac today. I was glad to get out of the house. We plan to go to Frosty Wheels Saturday.

Lived in Montana my whole life and have seen -70 below wind chill. I work on a ranch now so if doesn't matter how cold it gets the cows still need fed.
Then you have to chop ice so they can get to the water to drink, about 2 weeks ago I had to use a chainsaw to cut though the 14" of ice in the water tank, it was 10 below when I was doing that.

Its a day closer to summer those 110 degree days are on the way. I spent the morning cutting holes in 4" to 8" of ice so the cows could drink. Just think of that next time you bite into a chunk of beef . barslazyr you just made me feel warmer i understand

  23. I'm tired of laying in the snow trying to fix things. The direction lever on one of my Craftsman ratchets broke clean off, I don't know if there was ice inside it or it was just that cold.
