Anybody got a set on their car? How do they sound? Their flow numbers look good.

Don't even suggest Flowmasters. I had a set and I think they ****.

Running ****** Max Flows on my avitar. Love 'em! Nice, low, mellow tone at idle, up through highway cruise speed. Gets pretty loud if ya stand on it, but that's good too! I'm running 3 inch mufflers on 2 1/2 inch pipes. Flared the pipes to weld to mufflers. Used 3 inch mufflers because the inner diameter of the core was the same as the ID of the 2 1/2 inch pipes. Go for it! You'll be happy!:D ( X2, on the Flow Masters)

I've got ****** aero chambers and I'm a big fan. I don't know what sound you're going for but they're pretty smooth.

The only flowmasters I can stand are the hushpowers..

Flowmasters just sound "cool", thats it. They are restrictive and have poor flow numbers.

The 2 best flowing mufflers are the ****** aerochamber and magnaflow. I would love to change all my flowmasters over to magnaflow but I dont want to unweld all the joints and spend the money on new mufflers when the flowmasters do the job.

Next time I buy a muffler it will not be a flowmaster

Sounds like they will be the ones I try. I can't imagine why anybody would put a restrictive muffler on a performance car just because of how it sounds. Flowmaster that doesn't flow, kinda funny actually.

Without posting the engine or the pipe diameter the input you're getting is dubious.

I could put max flows on a stock 305 and get no more horsepower than a "restrictive" flowmaster. It would also be mellow sounding because that's the noise being input to the muffler. The max flows are notorious for being one of the most agressive mufflers out there. Feed em 450hp worth of noise and don't be suprised when they're louder than an open hedder 305.

When looking at internet clips remember that the majority of what's out there is fuel injected, catalyst equipped cars. FI cams have better idle manners and catalysts act like mufflers. And if it's a single pipe car like a 4th gen camaro, that single pipe changes the sound characteristic again.

I like magnaflows too, although they are kinda gl***pack rappy because that's how they're constructed. Basically oval body gl***packs. But you can buy em on ebay for half the price of the other brands. The ****** mufflers will sound like flowmasters because it's a sheetmetal baffle muffler, not a packed muffler. So if your opinion of flowmaster is based on sound, look at packed mufflers.

    good luck

The ****** max flow are not baffled. They are straight through packed. The exhaust is going on a 9 to 1 ford 293 V8. Figure that one out. I had flowmaster on a truck and couldn't get the jetting right untill I took off the muffler. The flowbench numbers on a flowmaster are horrible.
