I have the Cushman drag bike "Screaming Eagle", that was built and raced by Floyd Hand, of Dallas, Texas. He also built a steel rear wheel to convert the scooter to be used in the "sled pull". The old scooter with Floyd riding it would turn 63MPH in 330ft.(16th mile drag), and the Eagle is running a modified 8hp Cushman engine, built by Floyd. He extended a '60 Cushman Eagle frame, mounted the engine sideways on the frame, and hooked a Cushman 3 speed ****** to it (no slipping belt), and shifted with a spring loaded car shifter. Smoking rear tire, front wheel in the air, and man what a roar this scooter put out, it was "Screaning".
For all the people that made it to some of the Cushman national meets in Marshal, Texas, maybe this will bring back some happy memories. ...Enjoy......Fred
