Please read this thread about Dean Lowes RPU...

The bottom line is that the owner will not sell it back to the original owner/builder.
It is a different story if the original owner has p***ed. Its restoration is then "fair game".
Personal gaines vs preservation of history....
Fair market value or trade is the answer.

    Hugh,
I just finished reading that thread in your link. Thank You. I've printed it off and will be going to Larrys house tomorrow. I agree with you 100% on the fact that if the original owner is still alive and wanting to have something he built back, then so be it. I've thought a lot about Larrys deal, and I'm hoping he will make a deal with the original builder of the roadster. I feel bad, now that I'm older and supposibly wiser, that I took it apart and was changing it myself. Knowing now what I do I'd never have done that without trying to find out about the cars history as much as I could.

I'll keep everyone posted on how the talk goes tomorrow. Thanks again to everyone who has replied, especially because no one has been spiteful or nasty in regaurds to any of the parties involved. SEE, The HAMB can be a great place!!! Al.
