GM bell housing ID , right clutch

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by BROCK ART STUDIO, Jan 9, 2010.

  1. Hey Folks,

What the heck is this bell for?

Right clutch fork. Looks like a factory slave cyl.
Look like early Pontiac block holes ?
    Timing pointer inside.

    cast # 3765708 GM 3

    Thanks ,

    Jeff Brock

I'm gonna guess either boat or industrial. Maybe even forklift. But it's something that's got the nose of the engine buried to where you can't see the front timing marks.

Perhaps for that half-a-V8 pontiac 4 cyl. Memory says those engines went into a lot more things than cars.

EDIT- this guess is off by MILES!!! Jeez, I've even owned one of those.........

    Perfect for a 235/261 with T-5 for a T roadster.

  10. I got to thinking along those lines today myself ...

More reason to make a spot on the shelf.

    Will this fit a 302 GMC ?
I heard about a good GMC block around.

Yes, 216/235/261 Chevy and 228/240/270/302 GMC have the same pattern on the rear of the block.
