My original guy backed out just days before. Had no luck here and had to hire a company off the internet. Global logistics auto shipping. Anybody have experience. They charged me $342 from Des Moines to Chicago and said I'll have it the same day or the next. Give me some feed back fellas. Talked to a million people and only got a good vibe from this place.

For that kinda money why don't you go get it yourself? It's only a 6 hour trip (one way).

Man this has been such a huge mess. I drive an S-10. There's now way my little 262 motor could pull that car for 6 hrs (believe me, i thought about it). The company Global Logistics never called me back to conmfirm anything, just took my credit card number. Got a new hope from a HAMBer...... Keeep your fingers and toes crossed fellas.....

I bought a car form Texas and it was shipped to me her in Nevada with
fed-X. They bought a transport company and went into the car hauling business. Excellent service. A friend of mine in Reno tells me that Harrahs uses them to ship 7 figure cars and has never had a problem.

  11. I sold a 34 Ford coupe that went from Pa to Texas by Fed-X. The couple that picked up the car were super, took pictures of the car and marked down any marks or chips and I signed it. They are married and on the road 11 months out of the year. I would ship with them because they were thorough and cared about the car.

I am interested to see what experiences folks have had with various transporters.

I used U ship twice once for a car body and once for a 9 inch diff and both times it worked well and prices where right.
Although with U ship it seems you kinder take pot luck with who carts your stuff.

However when it is a whole car I believe a lot of the transport guys wont go near something that can not be driven on.

If it is not drive on senario, which could be the case for a lot of us HAMBers since you could be acquiring a new project, then Id be interested to hear what companies do that kind of work as well.

  14. If you care where your transport dollar goes,
you should read how Fedex treats their
    employees/independent contractors

Personally, I would not ship a package
let alone a vehicle with Fedex ....

I spend my time off the road at truck stops

I am driving on the road with truckers all
day long & talking with them during
    my downtime

OTR drivers for Fedex generally have
a low opinion of the company

OK, guys my ride has arrived. It all worked ! Jim picked up the car in Des Moines and got it here on time and in excellent shape. The communication was outta this world. This dude kept me updated every step of the way. This man is reliable. I recommend him strongly. F--k transports brokers!!! Learned a hard lesson here, but it was all for the best! It's funny that they are still bombarding me with calls and emails. Thanks for all the good lick wishes and thanks to JIM!
