I visited his dealership in the 60s...what a great business..everyone, as i remember, loved to talk cars... My condolancdes also go out..
I think of all the bad ass fords that come from the hands of this great man, his name will remain a sign of fast fords and great sportsmen ship.
Not just a car guy. Not just a damn good business man. Not just a man who cared about employees, customers and friends. He was all of those things to everybody. I met him a few times when I lived in Boston and he was a gentleman in every way. His family members are a mirror of him. Godspeed Big Bob!! You will be well remembered.
Got to work for him for my sponsoring dealership straight out of High School while going to FORD ASSET a college degree program funded by FMC in the early 90's. Got to see and meet many great people while there. Billy Lawton was one I'll never forget to this day even though it's been years since I've worked for the TASCA's. Also working next to the best in the business Bob T, Kenny O, Ralph Porier, and of course Donny B. To the TASCA family my deepest condolences to the TASCA's and extended family. Godspeed "Bopper"
My sympathy to the family. The Tasca's are legendary in drag racing and business. I've been to the dealership open house. Great time, car and motorcycle show, good grub, and I got to meet John Force and Pendragon, all for the goose. RIP
We will miss Bob RIP.....Back in the early 60's Bob would come to Uxbridge on Friday nights and we would drag race on the newly built 146 before it opened....You can guess who was the winner.
We are losing so many Icons in racing now and with the loss of Tasca it will take years for any one to come close to this man and his ability's in the performance and in car sales. God be with his family in there time of need.
I drove by the dealership today & the Flag was at half mast! He'll be missed, pioneer in dragracing. Jimv
When drag racing in the 60's Tasca Fords were always at the forfront of competition. Every year at the Nationals I used to walk the pits between our runs and their cars always caught my eye for thier great preparation and performance. There seems to be no end to list of good ones we're loosing these days. My condolences to the his family and friends. Frank
My condolences to the entire Tasca family. Met him this year at his annual Mustang Day. Such a nice guy and genuine part of Rhode Island.
God bless him and his family. "You will be satisfied" should be required reading for anyone in the car business, or any business for that matter
My sincere condolences to the entire Tasca family, and all his friends. There aren't enough words to describe his contributions;Godspeed,Mr. Tasca.
Bob Tasca will always be remembered as one of the pioneers in Super Stock, A/FX and Funny Car Racing. I got to meet him for the first time at the '95 Super Stock Reunion when he rounded up the old team consisting of super driver Bill Lawton and mechanical wizard John Healey and brought them in his motor home along with Bob Jr. Sadly, Lawton passed right afterwards. The next time I saw Bob Sr was at zMAX in 2008 when he came to cheer on Bob III. You could see the pride in his eyes. We spent a few minutes looking back on that '95 Reunion. I was amazed at how healthy he was at his age. My prayers go out to Bob Jr., Bob III and the rest of the family. RIP Bob Sr.
