Decided to make some very mild changes to my BONE STOCK model A. Since I'm totally unfamiliar with these, I have a few real basic questions. Thanks in advance for the help.

    - Do I need to make any changes to put different wheels on it? As long as they're 5on5 1/2, they should bolt on, right?

    - I would like to drop the front end just a little. Maybe a 2 inch dropped axle? Whats the best method to drop it?

    - I'm going to run the stock motor, but would like to dress it up a little. Where can you get dress up parts for a stock model A motor?

That's about it I guess, unless anyone has any cool pics of a NON-chopped, NON-channeled '31 5 window. I would love to see some pics. Thanks HAMBsters!

Run some early ford solid 16" wheels, or some 16" 35 Ford wires. No problem. Get yourself some juice brakes, and drop that front axle, and reverse the main leaf. Model T spring in the rear, and youve got a pretty nice stance.
Stay away from AutoZone type dress up stuff. Consider a downdraft intake with a 97.

Bolt on any Ford Truck rim to ~1990 (cool!), Many Dodge rims fit to but I wouldn't know which is which with dodge.

Drop axles are available for A's. Check Street Rodder Magazine, lots of ads

Banger goodies can get expensive, Finned heads, header, Carb/intake, balanced crank, cam, more. The sky is the limit as long as your wallet is in that same sky.

Any early Ford wheel will fit.
If you only want to drop it a couple of inches, you can remove one or two leaves from the spring and do the rest with tire sizes. I don't know about finding a 2" inch axle.... If you want change axles, just use a 3".

I'm not a banger nut 'cause I can't afford it. Dress-up/speed parts are pretty spending, but easy to find. There are a bunch of banger guys on the HAMB so do a search and you'll find anything you want...

If you are still running the stock mechanical brakes a dropped axle is going to cause problem with the front brake actuators.
Reversed spring eyes and a softer spring would be the easy way.

That is exactly what I'm wanting to do, except mine doesn't have nice paint. Your car is awesome Lowbuck! What size tires/wheels front and rear?

You can even go down to 14" rims on the front with 1960's Linclon wheels. I think all Linc's had 5 on 5 1/2 up to the late 60's.

How did you lower it, and how much did you lower it?

Rear is lowered with a 27 T rear spring with 1 leaf removed, dropped about an 2 1/2". Front is lowered with a 4" stretched dropped axle and a reversed eye spring, dropped roughly 5.5" when comparing to stock ride height with a new original spring.
