So its cold up here, and we needed some parts for some projects, so we decided to go to the junkyard, woke up, 15 below, what the heck!

we got a 54 plymouth belvedere dash for Stacies roadster and i picked up a late 50's gm generater and genarator brackets and short water pump pullys, and a fan and a few other trinkets it was fun.

We went to French lake Auto parts, if your local and you havent been there, your missing out.

It is family owned and run, 396skip here on the hamb is one of the sons and a great guy, if you need something pm him.

    15 below! That's nuts!

Couple of us were thinking about going to the Pick-N-Pull this weekend but decided against it since it was in the 20's.

    Nice score!

Wish the wrecking yards around here had parts like that. Our local Pick n Pull has all the Taurus and Cavalier parts you can handle. Not much good for a traditional rod. However we got above freezing for the first time in the last month today.

***AS...-15 and -21 holly ****ers. can a human go out side in his shorts in that kind of weather. i don't think so. i think the government should be looking in minnisota for alian beings...POP.

  21. -15 would be pushing it, but I spent Thursday afternoon in the you-pull-it, Friday afternoon in the you-pull-it, and Saturday afternoon outside working on an O/T van. I think it actually made 30 on Thursday, but never got past 15 today. At least I finally got a fricking exhaust system put together on something, after swapping both manifolds out.

    Those Plymouth dashes unbolt?

Yeah, Mopar dashes unbolt...if you can get the rusty screws loose...I wanted to take the dash on my '40 out to give me access to recess my firewall easier, but I'd have to remove the windshield to drill out the rusty/stuck screws...

    - 15 is a little cold .I did 22 degrees a few weeks back and it wasn't that bad .Wind and sun are very big factors ,I guess if you dressed warm enough and there was no wind you were fine ,I still think you guys are crazy. But who am I to judge.....

I can not even imagine that. I have seen snow once in my life (1985) and this whole town shuts down with the first glimpse of ice.

I dont need anything that bad from the junkyard that cant wait, usually what breaks this time of the year can be bought at the parts store and I have enough vehicles that one can sit untill it gets above freezing or the sun comes out,the last time I went when it was below 20 I could not get what I wanted since the ground was frozen.

Jeff,...all I know is you Mn. guys are so lucky to have Windy Hills AND French Lake; you guys already have an idea what heaven will look like....but it'll be 75 degrees all the time!

  30. I've spoken with Floyd a couple times-great guy. They have a hood and two front fenders along with some odds and ends I really could use but they're big and don't know how to get them to Tennessee without spending a fortune.

I haven't called in a while cause I figured it was so cold and the snow so deep there this time of year that one couldn't see any cars:D.
