Wondering if a 40 chev pu frame and 36 are the same

    Hey guys just wondering about 40 chev and 36 chev pu frames if they are the same 1/2 ton thanks

    well, I can't say with a ton of certainty if they are the same all the way around, because I think that the 39 - 46 trucks are longer, and possibly wider at the rear, but I will say that I have a 38 cab, which is the same as the 36 low roof in all ways that matter, and it's currently sitting on a 41 frame. Dropped into place like I'd planned it, and I hadn't, so pleasant surprise. Hope this helps. Oh, don't have any fenders, and the bed was made out of stock and sheet metal by a friend, and the front of the frame is bobbed, so I can't really say that they might be the same except for the 3 to 4 feet where the cab goes. So I guess the end answer is "at least somewhat".

    so what are you using for front end our plan was channel body over frame 6 foot box and change front end so we can run a dropped axle set up like a model a truck is going fenderless

    If this is what your plan is, you could do this with almost any frame. You didn't say what body or frame that you were going to use.

    Body is a low roof 38 chev frame is a 40 chev 1/2 ton
