Hi I have to admit that I joined to make contact with a member in Arizona who has an old racing car which was built by a freind of mine in 80,s but its a great site and I was surprised to see other members in Scotland. Is there anyone near Galashiels? I have a 1964 Austin mini Cooper S which I bought from the local breakers yard 31 years ago for £15 . I have used it continuously since and raced it in the eighties, to win the Scottish championship in 1990. I know its not a hotrod but with the 16 valve bike head on the mini block it shure goes like one. Has anyone else got a mini?
Welcome from Louisville Kentucky! Mini's for sure can be built and I have always liked them. From the photo it looks to be in awesome shape for a 64.
Hi, thank you for joining the HAMB. The Jasag 3 is sitting here in the bone dry Arizona climate waiting for me to restore it. I have been collecting parts for it, because it got parted out before I bought it. Also, we have a Vintage Road Racing Social Group here on the HAMB. And your Cooper S would be more than Welcome there... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/group.php?groupid=363
Welcome from the Netherlands, nice Mini, my first legal car was a 1978 Mini 1100 Special when i was 18 (had a Simca 1000 at 16, but not roadlegal)
Hey senile old git, do you know Ken Lamb? He's a motorcycle riding teacher in Galashiels, one of my oldest mates ever. Welcome.
Welcome from a former Brit, I used to rally a Mini...it was a 1000 with about 100bhp, it was fun. Friends of mine had silly Mini's, one with a 1700 X-Flow ford, the other with one of the ultra rare 7 port heads. Tell us more about the motor in the Mini, motorcycle heads?
