Jeb's Roadster Pickup

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Throttle Merchants, Jan 11, 2010.

  1. I know some people have seen this but its a car, or pickup for that matter that really inspired me not only because its an awesome car but also because such a young guy built it. Jeb Scolman of Jeb's Metal and Speed finished this car up the first year I was working with him. I followed him in my 56 pickup to Texas for the Lonestar Round Up and he recently sold it to fund not only his shop but his new 32 coupe project. Its just a truck I will always love and I have recently missed seeing it around. No matter who owns it, it will always be Jebs. So many awesome things on it from the motor mounts, to the DZ 302 that was in it, to the 1940 chevy spinner wheel, to the champ quickchange and the hand built bed. Jeb is a rad guy and an awesome builder. If you can make it to GNRS this year go check out his nlatest projects and new line of products. Heres a few pics I have of the car before he upholstered it.

I was just talking about this truck today with a coworker. I've read over the build up article in R&C from a couple years ago many times. It's a bitchin one.

  3. Amazing looking ride. Not a damn thing I'd change.

  4. I read that article right out of high school and have been lucky enough to learn all i can from him for the last 3 1/2 years.

for those you want to see real talent, get a copy of the june 2008 rod & custom
the 36 3w he did for john mearns was truly a work of art, from the rechop he had to do, to the perfect fit of the lasalle grille. the way he fit it up into the hood was what sold me and turned me to the dark side. he is definitely a awesome craftsman, and for such a young gun he has the talent and vision of a seasoned pro

  7. Cant believe i forgot to mention the dash. Its not a good picture of it but the closest thing i have. Shoebox dash I believe. Something like 13 inches taken out. Again, it was just something I had not seen at the time and thought it was cool. Ive seen a few since.

  15. The roadster pickup has been sold and no it wont be at GNRS. A 39 convertible in bare metal and jebs newly painted 32 coupe will be there. Along with his triumph and new product line of steering columns and air cleaners.

I really like that truck. Jeb stopped by my place on the way home from Paso a few years ago...that was the first time I had seen his rpu. I was blown away by all of the great details...especially the curved front stake pockets.

Looking forward to seeing his new project.
