Looking to finally ****on up my car for good. Had a little financial trouble in 09' with my wife being laid off so all cars went on back burner. I decided to leave the race car stashed this yr as much as possible and finally get the 40' registered, insured, and a road dog again. I need a few odds and ends.

1 Hood Hardware to mount it, I have most of the original stuff but want it mounted with new nuts and bolts etc. (WHERE IS BEST PLACE TO GET THIS?)
2 P***enger side door handle mechanism inside is shot. (WHERE IS BEST PLACE TO GET THIS?)
3 I don't like the lokar shifter I have on the car now, it has a 700R4 trans and it doesn't seem to catch all the gears? It gets like Park, Reverse, Neutral, Drive and maybe third, doesn't go all the way down to 2 and 1???
Anyone had this problem and how did you get past it?

    Thanks folks.

i was trying to figure out what a 40' (foot) ford odds and ends was?,,,it's a '40 ford coupe,,plus it's a good looking car.

    When I was building forty's
i got all the hood mounting hardware from Bob Drake's.

    Door latch ,,again Bob Drake.

Can't be any help with you shifter problem, but I know from experience the Lokar does have a tech line and can be a bunch of help.HRP

doesn't sound like the right shifter or has the wrong shift arm on ******. look to see if the throw is correct on the arm on the ****** shift lever. you may need to adjust there. if it's the wrong shifter...get some bucks and do what ya gotta do or put it in drive and go.

Its a lokar nostalgia lookin shifter for this trans. Its mounted correctly but It just doesn't seem to have the correct throws on it. I'll get back at it and try to readjust, I spoke with a girl on the tech line she didn't seem to be very knowledgable thats why I asked here. Thanks for the compliments on my ride. I'll write '40 for now on. Heres a shot with the caps and beauty rings on it.

yeah I've readjustd this thing several times, the way it mounts on the top of the trans is a pain in the ***. I moved that mount plate forward so it would not hit the seat, Then when in park it just about hits the dash, I have an original bench in the car so I had to try to find happy medium between both and now fine adjust this thing from there. Hopefully the couple of spots you mentioned will do it for me. Thanks again.
