Thanks Garatt, I found a place here in Cleveland to blast the cab for me. It's plastic media. They did a great job and were very reasonable.

matt, could you explain more on what you were doing with the machining of the front wheels? the reason being, i have a set of wheels like yours for anglia spindles. but didnt feel comfortable using anglia spindles for regular street duty. from the pics you posted, it looks like you had a hub made? thanks for any info. awesome build by the way!! these type threads get me motivated. good job!!! Andy, these wheels I bought off of ebay a couple of years ago. They're kind of an oddball. They're Halibrands cast in aluminum with a date of 1997. We had to machine them to fit the early ford spindles. When we started measuring for races we noticed they were never finished machined. Also the valve stem hole was never drilled. I don't know if they swiped off the line before they were done or left over after they went out of business. I'm not sure of Halibrands history but I thought they have been in and out of business a few times. There is no hub just a big boss on the back of the wheel which is great for attaching the rotor. But these things are heavy as hell so I doubt they were designed as a race wheel. If anybody else has any other info I would curious to know the history on them.

Are yours aluminum or mag? There are lots of guys running spindle mounts on the street. You might want to start a theard asking about your specific wheels.

thanks for the info, mine are american torque thrust (they look like yours). mine are for an anglia spindle. not enough material on the hub to machine for early ford spindles. im sure an early ford set will turn up sooner or later and i can try and get them. thanks and good luck. Andy

Yeah it's been a while. I do have a few updates. The truck has been at the ch***is shop getting the cage for a few months.(longer then I would like). But I have been busy putting the motor together and building a 6x2 manifold.

I wasn't going to post any pics of the intake until I was done. But what the hell since you asked. I kind of cheated and started with a dart intake and machined off the runners. I didn't want to get involved with locating the distributor. Also this being the first time I tried to do anything like this and I didn't want to bite off more then I could chew. I built flanges that bolt to the valley pan and the intake will be built off of them. I made the runners by making a die and bending the aluminum around it. The top plate is 3 pieces welded together with 1-1/2 tubing in the middle. When everything is welded together I'll cut out the center of the tubing for the linkage to fit into. I have the runners done and started tacking them to the flanges. After they're tacked on I'll mill the tops parallel to the bottom and build a plenum.

A good friend of mine is helping me put the motor together. More like me looking over his shoulder and asking questions. This thing is way over my head and this what he does for a living. The short block is together and I'll be starting on the heads soon.

Hey, Can you post some more pics of how you mounted your cab to the frame? I'm going at it alone and have been learning a ton from your posts. thanks

I mounted my cab different from most. The cowl was all ready channeled when I bought the cab. Someone had welded 1/8 plate to the firewall and A-pillars. Whoever did it did a good job so I left it. That plate bolts right to the frame rails. When I build the floor it will be on top of the frame with no subrails. I wanted to be able to remove the sheetmetal from the frame if needed. The cowl will have to stay on now because the front bars run through the firewall. But the rest of the cab comes off. For the back panel I made brackets that also bolt directly to the rails.

Not right now. I wanted to try and build the 6x2 setup for a while. I might run the 6 2's on top of the 871 or switch to twin centrifugal superchargers. Something like Hambbone's coupe.

I got a chance to work on the motor and the intake today. My buddy Tony got the short block ****oned up while I did some milling on the intake.

I finished welding the runners to the flanges and milled the runners off.
