2004r question

i have an off topic car with a v6 and 2004r. it shifts fine then one day it lost reverse. i have changed the filter and fluid. i am aware that it probably needs a rebuild. but i am hoping i may have missed something stupid. any thoughts?

 

low and reverse clutchs go bad .

 

So if there's no R but it goes in Low okay, something stuck inside maybe in the valve body?

I almost bought one years ago that went fine forward, but no reverse. It might last a long time like that, just watch where you park that you don't have to back up -
