A car friend and I will be traveling along the I74 East/West corridor on Saturday from Indiana, in particular between Danville, IL and Peoria, IL. Unfortunately, we are headed to visit a sick friend.

But we are always looking for an adventure of some sort.

Is there anything interesting to see along that route (any cool fab shops, speed shops, museums, tool stores, anything???)

Anything worth a stop for a couple of hours maybe?

    Thanks!

Well, that is sort of what I thought. I used to travel Illinois a lot though and sometimes found something interesting worth a brief stop. I remember I used to stop at Mid America Corvette and go through their museum once in awhile.

We don't have a lot of time on our hands, but would love to know about an interesting stop or two along the way.

Maybe even just a cool little downtown place for lunch?

At Farmer City ( exit 159 ) we have H.A.M.B. and eggs at Imo's restaurant at 8:00 AM. every Saturday. It is at the intersection of Rt.54 and Rt.150. I could give you a shop tour. Also Cl***ic Auto at exit 135 North on Rt. 51 about 1 block. Bloomington

Use to be a pretty good steak house at exit 4. It's a long strech of road and not much but plowed fields.

Heading out in the morning and haven't heard back from Waldo (sent a pm). Any more leads on a cool little exit along the way with something worth seeing, or something in Peoria, please let me know.

We won't have a lot of time on our hands but are always looking for something interesting that locals might know about. Never hurts to try.

Will check messages again in the morning.

    Thanks guys!
