Havn't quite seen that set up yet, but i did slap a little 4-71 on a tunnel ram. it brought a whole new meaning to "lag"
How were you planning on running that set-up? using the adapters for the stroms? Is a single 4 or Dual Tunnel Ram
I didn't mean any disrespect and I honestly try my best to not talk down someones ride but I just don't understand why people devote hours of their time to build ****.
But do you know the owner of that car? I recall he posted it on another message board about taking it to the Hunnert Car Pileup and everyone told him it looked like dirty crusty meth addict ***. I think he wondered why because he thought he had a sweet rat rod???
Either way....not something one should own up to....that **** is rediculous. too bad there wasn't a "smilie" icon throwing up, it would be justified right here.
I know the guy who owned the car originaly, from my understanding it has changed hands once or twice now. I built that motor at our engine shop up here in michigan. Sometimes you just gotta do what the customer wants... and pays for
Actually if you want your shop to have a good reputation and be respected for building quality you would not build something like this just for money....once people know who put such a pos together they will not want to go there. Sometimes you have to say NO.
On our defense, a lot of engineering went into that motor, especially for someone on a budget. That motor made just over 450 horse even with the terrible turbulance that old school offy tunnel ram created. Despite the looks of it, it was a fresh motor, not a junk yard dog. Not a motor i would want to put together for myself, but the guy had lots of ideas he wanted to try to put into motion, so we helped. And we quality build engines, not the cars they go in to.
Even tho I'm an ***, I'm not trying to be a bigger one here but how would you say there was a lot of engineering in that engine? I would think with a lot of engineering you would have been able to make it produce some healthy numbers, and 450 to me is not healthy even if it looks hideous. I look at that picture and see a bunch of parts thrown together...oh there is an adapter plate, probably machined to fit the blower but come on. Not saying you don't normally build engines that are quality, but this is one you should have p***ed on...or figured out. If he really had money, and was willing to pay, that thing should have made a lot more hp that that.
Any smiley that I see that I figure will come in handy I just right click & save. upload them to my Photobucket & then post them like a picture. there are a bunch of good ones on various forums. that particular one came from GMFullsize. Here are a couple of others. Yes, that IS dancing poo.
I've been doing muffler work for over 30 years, and in that time I've "had" to do some really stupid looking stuff because thats what the customer wanted. GOD, I hate to let ugly work out the door, I just keep thinking some where at a show , some one is going to ask who did that work and they are going to tell them. But what can you do? It's their money and they can piss it away anyway they want to.
