Anyone know if they repop the rear hood latch bracket for the 1932. The bracket goes under the front fender and attaches to the frame.
I'm ***uming you have a hiboy. If that's the case, NO...there aren't any rear hood hold down brackets repopped. You have to make one from scratch...and they're really easy. It's basically an angle iron type bracket.
On a stock fender they are part of the fender and are rivited or spot welded onto the fender. If you have a pattern or one to copy they would be easily fabricated. And if a hiboy, like 3wLarry says make your own out of angle or flat, depending on how you want to mount them.
Not the best picture I lengthened the rod on the latch by welding two rods together and mounted it the same as a stock front hood latch. You know hot how it is ask 10 guys how to do something and you get 11 different answers
I think mounting the latch itself directly to the rail looks a lot better than the mounting plate way.
Sorry don't have pixs but, we use model A,s. They have a nice old ford look and are plentiful off of old rails . I have even riveted them back on duece rails. Its a simple stamped L bracket.
He possted that at 10:00PM. I'm not real sure it could have been 10 are 11. It was late...Maybe he's jealous cause I have a SBC ???????????
