Not completely useless. They make great target practice and the look on their faces when your 12 ga. loads a round into the chamber is priceless.

When looking on craigslist, don't just look under "auto parts" for a bed. I just bought a 46 Studebaker truck bed off of craigslist - it was in the "farm and garden" section and was being sold as utility trailer parts. I just happen to stumble across it.

I hope you find your bed and tailgate, it looks cool on your ride.

    What's your address?
I'll drive by and if anything is in your yard I'm haulin' it off.
It's not like you need it,you just left it out for me...

If you step on someones property to take anything, that's called Theft, plain and simple.

And that's a bad thing?

Put another bed out hooked to 220 and hose down the driveway.

It was probably one of them.

I hear you, I meant we put it by the curb - we New Englanders hate to throw anything away that someone might be able to use...

BTW I will be at Pomona on Sunday, it's a long shot but I will keep my eyes open.

Don't just call, go by there with pics of it.

    lol

  10. Yes, you need to actually go to the s****yards and look yourself. Just calling is liable to get it shredded faster so they don't have to deal with the law and all that.

I'll keep an eye out here, too. I really, really hate thieves. I wish we had some of Texas's laws here in California.

    Dude, that ****S!

I'm here in town near Fulton and West 3rd. I'll be in Turlock on the 30th, will bring a picture and keep a sharp eye out for it. Keep checking craigslist also. There's a bunch of guys from 707 on this board. This is a good place to spread the word!

this putting stuff on the curb needs some ground rules set down like signage or something. theres a city up here that has an annual "free day" where you put anything you dont want on the curb for people to take. someone was mowing his lawn and ran out of gas, went to get some and came back his rider was gone

it really ****s that dirtbags will take stuff without express consent i hope they get caught and punished to the fullest extent of your stompin boots!

at the same time there's also dumb honest people. i've put stuff out at the end of my driveway with a sign that says "free" somebody stops and says "what?you don't want it" theres your sign

If it was on the curb it would be one thing but the bed was all the way aginst my house. 2 more feet and it would have been in my back yard, which is where my lazy *** should have put it...

    That ****s.
I lost a bunch of stuff a couple of years ago. Some s**** metal guys stopped by my father's house looking for things to haul away. We had some cut up frames pieces, junk blocks, and some miscellaneous cast off items sitting in and around a shed - he didn't go look, he just told them to clean out the shed. Unfortunately, I also had my completely dis***embled '27 roadster, some A rails, A fenders and aprons, various A mechanical pieces, some corvette aluminum wheels, '69 Camaro posi, a couple corvette front frames and suspensions, and a camaro front stub. I talked to him later that afternoon, and they had laid most everything off to the side (obviously understanding it wasn't s****) to haul away in another load. He explained he didn't know that stuff was there...and not part of the deal. They were friendly and all...put it back in the shed when they were done..and went on their way...they did take the wheels. Unfortunately sometime in the following week, they returned and hauled off all the larger stuff. Fortunately my father secured the smaller stuff in the shed...but I honestly still don't recall all that I had stored there. At some point, I'm going to be going crazy looking for that fender....

  28. I live neAR THE CITY, so instead of a few familiar s****men, we've got plenty of unfamilar folks making their rounds. One day instead of hauling a few simple pieces to the curb, my lazy misguided neighbor invited some s****men into his yard to pick up the pieces for him. I found them gazing over my fence drooling over all of my ***orted steel projects..... Needless to say, the neighbor and I had some words...

That does really ****. Go to the s****yards for sure. S**** is on the rise again. Not as high as it was 2 years ago but the highest it's been in a while. I'm sure we will see more of the same. $8-9/100 lbs. last week for light iron (general steel items). That buys a rock for minimal work :D. Lock it up guys!

    ***UPDATE***

I talked to my neighbor and she said two guys in a older yellow pickup with wooden stake side and spray paint lettering on the side came to her house asking if she had any s**** metal she needed hauled away, she said no and saw them go to my house.
