hamber the gambler started a thread awhile back asking for help with his car clubs plaques. i hate asking for help, but time is running thin and we need to get these done. i've been on the phone with obrien trucker, and they need a design to start making our plaques.

our club is called diamond cutters, and our logo is a simple diamond above a strait razor. the diamond sits above a "v" shaped razor, kind of like it is not open all of the way. almost as if the diamond is floating above the strait razor. i tried posting a pic, but wasn'nt able to.

we are going for a very simple traditional look. above the diamond in a rainbow pattern we want it to say diamond cutters. the plaques are going to be standard square, i think it is 5x9. on the corners of the plaques we want simple spider webs.

i hope someone can help if it is not too much to ask. i have seen some very talented photoshoppers on here. we are also open to suggestions. lets see what ya'll can come up with. thank you all very much....... deckard sr.

I'd say post a drawing and one of the guys who can actually draw on here can take it and run with it. The gent who makes probably 75% of the current car club plaques in the world is on here as a member so he can probably tell you what is needed as far as artwork goes.

obrien truckers said it had to be a pretty clean design to be able to cut it out right. this is just a rough idea so hopefully someone can doctor it up, and make it look good. were trying to get ready for roundup.

I'll give it a shot but your club name is quite long and will make the title be pretty small. I'll see what I can do but I'm pretty sure that it'll be better in 2 lines - "diamond" arching from below and "Cutters" from the top... with the drawing in the middle. I can't imagine much space for "cc" tho the town name will be there for sure... somehow.

yea, i was thinking the same thing 37nash, we also decided not to put the cc, and we never wanted to put the town name.

Flip the way the blade is facing,so the edge part points toward the bottom instead of the diamond, then you can put DIAMOND CUTTERS along the V contour between the diamond and the straight razor. Send me a copy of the design (Size you need it to be) to riffraff909@yahoo.com and I can get on it ASAP and see what I can do.

    Hey Big K,

Is this your club from BHC? If so, Who did your plaques?

Will you be coming to the rat rod show again. If so, maybe I'll see you there.

^ Bitchin man!!! I think the font is a tad off (modern-ish, great for a jewelry store but maybe not a club plate... I could be wrong) tho the composition is really very nice. Hope you don't mind the critisism...

    Blackmopar: Thank you!

No problem 37Nash, I kinda agree with you but I thought I'd throw it out there anyway because the composition was working out pretty good.

nope, diamonds are a girls best friend. actually it's just a name we came up with a couple of years ago as a joke and it just stuck...

    This is where I'm at:

I learned today that most (if not all) engravers won't do larger than 10 inches. I was making my templates at 12 x 6. This one is 10 x 6, I didn't keep the original ratio so the drawing would breathe better... Still got some line tweaking to do to get the spacing right. Should be done in the next few days unless you guys got any objections.

EDIT: quick update, added the border and some gray... (the gray is for preview only, the final is gonna be all B&W)

^^thats cool but to be honest with you, i'm not really digging the flames on the razor handle. and is there any way to put the diamond back down there where it was originally? even if you have to shrink it a bit. the words are pretty badass. thanks. sorry to be such a critic.....

No sense keeping these letters if we're going back to the 1st format... the "MOND" were deformed to fit the diamond, without it there, it'll look weird. Anyway, I'll get you something to see soon. The handle in black is ok tho?
