So what you're saying is if you haven't been into [insert type of specialty car you own] since, what year did you say YOU started with the Buicks?, then you're a Johnny-come-lately poser scenester?
That doesn't leave much understanding or room for younger guys, whether they are in fact scenesters or the 110 octane leaded gas in their blood real McCoy, to come into the hobby and replace the rapidly dying off oldsters does it?

"I've been lowriding since before you were even born, sonny!"

Uuuuhhh, Which part am I sposed to agree/disagree with?
You rambled back and forth, pro and con, so much it was hard to really tell if you were fence sitting or on one side or the other.
I figured you must have a "side" or you wouldn't bother writing.
I figured I'd just pick which parts were the most predominant and go with it, and that was the general "Fuck Em!" parts, and that's what I responded to..
So why was I not able to get out of it what you think it was supposed to communicate?
If that's not what you meant to communicate, then try writing an essay with more coherent thoughts.

My line, "I've been lowriding since before you were even born, sonny!" Was meant to be a put down of people who say shit like that, not about you. Sorry if you took it that way.

    Love & kisses,

I think what Buicknailhead is saying is that basically, you shouldn't change your opinion of something just because of popular demand. Build or do what YOU want to because YOU want to. Not because someone said it was cool. I dunno. That's sorta what I got from it.

INDEED EXACTOMUNDO!! Thanks for the positive feed back unlike others. It wasnt intended to be one sided, it was intended as a statement for anyone to do as they will with their rides and not be pressured into doing what the popular demands. I feel like Titus.... If you need help reading next time please get some help. [IMG] and chill this wasn't to slam anyone. [IMG]

Well, I wanted to see what I missed so I took the liberty of returning the sentences to the next line and breaking it into some sections that might be made into paragraphs and spell checked it, being carefull not to dillute the slang. and it sorta says "live and let live", NOT "dis your neighbor before he disses you".
I know this is garage talk but it's gotta be a little bit decipherable...please?

Here, I didn't delete, or rearrange a single word.

"I just wanted to rant about the fact of the current trendy-ness that is upon us.
The Flames, flat Black, rods , Bettys , Brill cream.
I am not dissing any of it, in fact I am stoked on it.
If I could somehow get my long locks to shape to a nice Elvis Quaff!! I would have atter!
But seeing as I would never change my lifestyle for my hobbies I won't.

I live in this little shack in Langley B.C. Canada, built back 1953.
I have a yard full of Big ass Buick's, and the occasional Chev/Ford combo.
I have always liked the custom aspect of the scene, be it Lowriders (my first car) or even rods.
I see how commercialized it is getting and it makes me sick.
I see the people who have been doing it since day one and the people who are doing it because it is trendy.

We have these little shows and get togethers once in a while and you see the people show up in these "costumes" from the 50's It's cool and all....but then they go home to the Ikea page 24 and hide the "rod" in the carport and get ready for another day in the Honda.
Where as I drive a 64' hunk of merc, and the wife drives a hunka hunka Buick .
This has been the way for us (me and the wife) since day one.
I will not allow a non chromed bumper car on my driveway!!!

I don't sport the fat cuffs and I don't have the 10/30 weight in my hair, BUT I don't dis Lowriders, billet, or any other variety on the block.
Hell, I would even give credit to a guy who has spent his savings on a fast n furious ride as long as he has done all the work himself.
But at a recent get together all I heard and saw were the guys and girls that were so into lowriding and dressing like a "Holmes" daily, to now looking like a member from happy days Dissing lowriders and people without white walls etc etc.
What the hell is that shit?
Me and a friend were counting the guys that we knew had a set of hundred spoke knock off wires in the closet.
It was always about the "13's" where I am from.
Now its either "flat black" or "22's" I just want to scream sometimes.

Do what you do people and enjoy it and get on with your lives.
Who cares what you and Joe blow rolls up the street.
Just because I have a car that has flat black on it or shiny paint doesn't mean that I am a "Lowrider" or a "Wanna-billy".
I am a person that likes a car that looks "Customized".
If I feel like sportin Hundies on my Buick then so be it!
If the next week I feel like smoothies with fat whites,...so be it!.
It's what I liked at that time and it's not a big deal.
Enjoy your time in the now and have fun with customizing your rides.
Who cares what people say , think, or do to persuade you to do other. fuck em!
It's your car(s) and you should do what you will to it.
And for those who don't like it [IMG] "

I learned the trick of starting each new sentence on a new line from C9.
It makes it a lot easier to read.

Also, even if you don't have actual paragraphs, it makes it easier to read if you put some "breathing room" spaces between the different trains of thought.

Yep, Learned all that from C9.

(I thought I had a train of thought once, but it turned out to be just an engine and a caboose!) [IMG]

i think that what gary was tryin to get across is..there was some peaple at this shin dig that were over heard shit talkin' about some lowriders..these fools not 2 years ago were rollin 13's on whatever!!!now they are wannabillys..gary has a lowrider with 15inch wires, and a 60's style custom.. he is true to himself and doesnt see a need to follow the latest fad.his point is to be yourself regardles of what you are rollin.13 inch d's or fat whites these guys were tryin to hard to be something they are not and it is embarassing.its one thing to love trad style rod and kustoms..it dosent mean you have to dress like its halloween to be cool..p.m me if you wish to comment on this

INDEED!!! Finally someone who READ what I wrote. [IMG]

  27. Were the opinionated wannabillys from that club on Davies Street?
I noticed a few goofs there but otherwise it was great.I figure if someone don't like what I'm driving or doing they're missing all the fun.I,like Gary think if someones wrenchin on their car tweekin this and tweekin that then its kewl.I'd rather see a kid customizin a ford focus then high on crack breakin into my house and stealin my shit.I like all kinds of cars and try not to dis to many people bout their rides.
    Have fun,drive hard and enjoy........Shiny

hey,i read what you wrote, but i didnt hear or see any of that at the event, and would never promote a lame attitude like that.everyone i talked to was cool and i was stoked that there were so many different styles of people hanging out in the same place, regardless of fashion.maybe you caught some conversations that i didnt.you know i dont care about that crap.old cars rule, thats it!
