I just started my 35 project, and thought I would get some input from all of you. It is getting a 5 1/2" chop and about a 4" channel. I am using the original frame rails from he firewall up. It was a big truck so I cut a pie shape out of the rails to make them 4" to match the tube and give them some shape. I am using a 32 ford crossmember and 2x4 for the rest of ch***is. Let me know what u think and if I am effing something up along the way.

Nice truck, but I would not have chopped it. Good luck on your build.

good luck gettin git back together if you didn't brace the cab before cutting it up. also good luck with the doors if they werent working and gapped well before starting. Not trying to be a downer, but these are known techniques that help make the job easier. to getthe front posts to line up you either need to stretch the roof or lean the pillars. which one are you going to do? are yoiu asking for our input on which way to proceed?

The chop is perfect, and using the front of the origonal frame is a great choice, keep up the fabbin and the pics.
