I need a set of rods for 221'' V8 ford. I believe they have 21a on them. they have full floating bearings and are good for stroker merc crank. thanks rob drew

Try joblot.com but good luck in finding the rod bearings.

If you use the 4" Merc crank you will need to buy the Merc pistons as well. 100 HP Ford piston pin locations are not in the right place for the additional 1/4" stroke.

My 21 stud motor uses the bearings with the side lip, yours won't.
I got a bunch of earlier reconditioned rods on the 'bay very reasonable, I keep watching for them there. I played the balancing game on the big end, they can be a lot different.
Check to make sure the oil holes are drilled & the bushings reamed or honed for correct pin fit, they had missed some. But, they were correctly resized on the bottom end, & had no trouble with bearing fit. Sometimes they have to be "adjusted" to float with even drag, haven't had that problem myself, there was an article about it on Fordbarn.
It would be easier & cheaper to use the late crank & rods, they are everywhere. 8BA parts are at NAPA, earlier stuff is $$$
Can't say I see much advantage to the expense in doing the merc crank though

crank will be stroked to 4.250 ,journals will be smaller than later rods, plus bearings are full floating, can't spin a bearing because they are already spinning. Thats the way I got it figgered.

EGGE Machine carries the bearings you will need. I'm using the full floaters on my 46 flattie.
