Roger Jeter sent me a copy of his book full of all kinds of great stories. I'm normally not too into this kind of thing, but I'm a bit taken a back. It is friggin great - perfect for those long toilet sittings after a good mexican dinner... I know it sounds crude, but come on - you know its true. The stories are just the perfect length and it just reads so well. I am very impressed.

Roger, tell folks how they can buy it... and thanks!

Thanx Ryan, I appreciate the comments. So...

My new book: Bangin’ Gears & Bustin’ Heads” is now available.

208 pages of the 1960’s in Lincoln, Omaha, Fremont, Nebraska and Iowa…stories of drag races, fist fights, cruisin’, four-oh-nines, four-oh-sixes, Plymouths, Oldsmobiles and the way it really was…including vintage B & W photos.

Yo can visit my website: www.rajetter.com and Paypal for it there. For overseas & foreign, they will be an increase in postage…e-mail me for correct amount. Or, you can send $15.95 (plus $5.00 S & H) to P.O.Box 440042, Aurora, CO 80044...I will, in turn, donate $1.00 of each sale for the book to the HAMB!

This book would make a nice Christmas gift for that hard-to-buy-for person.

Bonus: When you order direct from the author (that’d be ME!!!), I’ll autograph it to you personally.

Also available at major bookstores and Amazon. com

And Rad****...see, I gave you first opportunity and you didn't take it...hmmmmm!

    Definately worth the price...

Guys, it is like Roger was there when it happened.

He was, you know. He has written from a first person experience.

All in all, a very good read.

Got mine...autographed and all, from 'Da MAN' awhile back!
Can't say enough good about it!
All short stories, so even if your "short" of attention you can finish one, feel satisfied, and grab it again when you get the time.
Reads great, has funny bits, serious bits...all kinda bits...but ALL BITS are entertaining.
You don't need to be a dedicated reader to really enjoy this book!

I give it two "HAMB" salutes and recommend it highly.[IMG]

I have been reading the copy I got for my dad for Christmas. It is great. He grew up right wround where some of the stories take place. I am sure he will enjoy it too.

I know what you mean wingnut. I hate it when you go to get up and you can't walk because you can't feel your feet. Then you go limping out of the john like you just sprained something "on the job".

  17. Been dropping 'not so' subtle hints to Mr's Wife about what I want for Christmas....Think I have just found something else to add to the list!! [IMG]

I also have been enjoying Roger's stories. I received the book as a gift from Bellm and his lovely wife Cindy and not only did they write a nice message in it, Roger did as well. I will treasure it always. Thanks

And Eddie, haven't you been reading "The (occ***ional) Friday Nite Reads?" There will be another "read' tomorrow nite. Therein lies the sequel...

Thanx all for the fine comments on the book...

What a book!! Got mine and am trying to save it for the "Sunny Beaches" of Ft. Lauderdale. I need something to do for the next couple of month's.(Read that as "Snow Bird") [IMG]

Thanks for the Autograph Roger. I can hardly keep from reading it NOW. [IMG] As for the challenge at MO-KAN, you're on!

As for the "Response Card", NO you won't be getting it back. That's the neatest book mark I have ever seen. My response is WOW! Those stories make me feel young again. "Oh yeah, that remind's me of 1961 when we..........."

    Everyone here NEED'S that book.

Roger sent me a copy too. I've cherrypicked a few of the stories and they do the near impossible...keep me interested. Being a fan of his stuff here and in the Gazette that shouldn't be a surprise. Way to go! Look for info on it in the March Gazette.

I read must of the stories right here on the HAMB but with my memory, they're all new again! I try to read one story a night before I drift off...
Thanks again, Roger. Great reading and like Tim said....it's even better when you've traveled the same roads and driven the same streets.

  28. I just got my book yesterday and read half of it right quick! I had to stop myself from going any further so as not to totally spoil it in one week haha. I love the book and whoever has not ordered one yet should do so ASAP!
