I think the cab looks alittle small compared to the length of the front end. I do like the bed and hood lines even, but my fav pic is the straight on shot of the ass end. The curvature of the fenders, exposing the belly pan and the tail pipes, the logo/light, and the shape of the tailgate. I see alot of people tuck the roll pan underneath the tailgate to bring the back inward, but I love the way it follows the fenders out, like a late thirty's coupe. Overall I could nit-pic here and there, but who am I kidding, it looks 10,000 times cleaner and well built, than anything I'm going to put together in the next decade. I'd have to say thumb's up, for a streetrod.:D just kidding

Neat detail, great ideas and the theme flows. Ugly profile.

I like it. Wrapping the wide whites around some appropriate wires or Caddy Sombreros I hope? Also, what are the tube/rod brackets running down the center of the undercar all about? Full bellypan?

  4. Exquesite work. A lot of thought went into the truck and it shows. Love the 37-39 GM fenders. The onliest beef I have is the height of the top. I think it'd look snarkier with a 2.5"-3" haircut but I'm not building the truck. Love all the shop-built fairings and the louvered belly pans and under running board covers. The brass moldings up the center of the hood are gonna look great after plating. Very nice
Oh, and I think a pair of tastful nerfs on the front would help break it up a little too.A front bumper would detract, IMHO but nerfs would be cool.

In regard to the questions about the body parts, the front group is 37 LaSalle which has been sectioned 5 1/5 inches in 2 places, one to lower the headlights and one to shorten the grill. The hoodside panels are 36 Packard. The cab is 48 Ford pickup that has been chopped, channelled and sectioned, 2" each. The windshield is a 46 Mercury passengercar full height but narrowed 3 1/3". The rear fenders are 37 LaSalle fronts that have been cut to fit the bed, pie cut and tipped. There is a nose to tail louvered belly pan.

A few more pics of the Vendetta Pickup, a few old and a few after paint. Pinstripping will be completed first of the week and then us country boys will be about ready to take it to L.A. and see what happens. Thanks for all your interest.

Yes, we are going to make it, going through the final preprations now. At least we have an Aussie part in 1/2 of the dash so you are represented. We know we will be in a special truck section at the GNRS, something new for this year. Very nervous about the tow to L.A., hoping for not too much fog on I-5 heading south. The color is Sherwin Williams Planet Color "Down Under Orange". Fact. Thank you. Wish up luck.

Unreal!!! it's always a thrill to see a vehicle thats also a work of art! this could be displayed in a museum and not be out of place.

I just want to say that I think it is very cool and the amount of work as well as the quality is outstanding. Good luck at the show.
