Should be a cool show. They are featuring drag tacing from the old Pittsburgh International Dragway. Any Western Pa, Eastern OH, or Western MD HAMBERS attending next week's show in Pittsburgh? Would we have enough members for a meet and greet on Saturday?
ill be there all weekend at the panel jam painting and bje31 is that casey from the paint chop painting the doors of that truck??
My car club, the Sacred Pistons are having a club display there. I'll be pinstriping as well, but club cars. Multi-tasking!
i might drive back to pittsburgh next weekend for the show and to see the 29 Chevy that my aunt just bought. If think a meet and greet would be a good idea.
Luckystrike, yes that is Casey. Casey is striping at the show. He is a great friend. How about a meet/greet at 1pm by the PID setup. A bunch of my friends will be there helping with the displays, pics, and drag cars. I'll be wearing my REDLINERS CC shirt. Give me a yell.
I was there on Sunday and saw a few guys but no real H.A.M.B. meet and greet! Drifters (can't wait for the Steeltown Shakedown) and Sacred Pistons (looking forward to the "Burn Barrel" meet n greet) had pretty cool displays and it was good to talk to those guys.
I think they had more cars last year.. With all the cars in the surrounding area, you would think there would be more!! That place is tuff to get in and out but not as hard as the first convention center was..John
This was the first I've gone to any of the WoW shows in Pittsburgh for many years. The last ones I went to had a lack of local cars and all those "aquarium in the grille" and overdone cars soured me. I'll have to say this show in Pittsburgh this time was great. Nice mix of all cars and it seemed like they tried to keep the different classes together. We spent 5 hours there on Saturday and in talking with some of the folks, there must have been a recent management shake up with the WoW, and for the better. People pulled their cars out of the show last year because of the way they were treated. Not so this year.
First year I've been able to go,due to health reasons...gotta say if it wasn't for the Sacred Pistons and Drifters, it wasn't much of a show, and I've been going when it was at the Hunt Armory..back at the original David L., when the promotions group out of Philly was running it, you had nice feature cars, ie: The Summers Bros Goldenrod LSR, other builders from the west Coast, hell at least we got the freakin' Batmobile... There was that one old school roadster, just as you came in that was to die for..but the number of cars, plus the mix, left a lot to be desired... I miss displaying down there, but cant say there was much of a crowd , either Friday or Sat., not like it once was.
I don't post on here very often, but I would just like to say thank you for the kind words about our club display and to all the people who stopped to shoot the breeze or picked up some support merchandise! we had a good time. the last ever "Hobo Rager" party is this saturday, I think Kensey will be posting details! hope to see all you good folks there! it's supposed to snow about 8" here in western Pennsylvania so what else is there to do except stand around a burn barrel at the garage drinkin'??????!!!!????
