I'm in the process of changing my cam in my 49. it's got an E303, I'm switching to a mustang Gt cam to try and get some vacuum for my brake booster. Is there any way to get the cover off without dropping the oil pan? On my car dropping the pan means taking the engine out of the car.

Fortunately you can take the timing cover off without removing the oil pan. Just reach under the front corners and remove 2 bolts each side of the 'hump', total 4 bolts from underneath, along with the ones from the front. I just did a 351C in car and had to remove the pan. tnrotter

Thank you both for the quick response. After reading them I went out and popped it off. The cam is out of the car. Thanks again. The power of the HAMB is amazing!

I thought about it, but I think for now I'm going with this cam, and I'm going to build another motor thats a little more radical. I'll probably go with a reservoir then.
