jUST GOT NEW TIRES INSTALLED ON MY CRAGAR WHEELS FROM LOCAL TIRE SHOP. CHECKED LUG NUTS TODAY & WASHER UNDER LUGS READS WHEEL SIDE. AM I WRONG OR SHOULD THE WASHER BE REVERSED WHERE THE WRITING IS FACING THE RIM. TO ME WHEEL SIDE MEANS THAT SIDE SHOULD BE MOUNTED AGAINST THE RIM, RIGHT OR WRONG. THANKS FOR ANY INPUT.
There's lots of em out there. My buddys brother in law is an engineer that makes big money. He once changed a flat on his car (steel wheel) and put the lugs on with the cone facing out. Nothin' shocks me anymore.
Yes, the side that reads "wheel side" should, obviously, be facing the wheel. If you look at the washers they are curved and flatten out to put tension on the lug nut that helps prevent them from backing off. Make sure the washer is between the little nubs on the wheels when installing them or you will have problems. The uni-lug design is a major pain.
A buddy of mine had a local shop weld his gl***packs in backwards, I didn't even know you could do that. And they even had front and a little arrow pointing stamped on em.
