Gotta be a g***er/altered. Candy apple red with yellow fading into orange flames, chrome straight axle w/coil overs, polished Halibrands and a chrome three-inch tube rear bumper. Leave the fenders on for the g***er look or fenderless for the altered look.

  4. build it to drive, if you put any tires other than stock you'll have to tub -it and the engine bay is small so the fire wall has to be moved back to install any other motor. I would go with ten inch rear tires stock frt axle with disc brakes split wishbone to keep it low use small tires and wheel in the 23" 24" range. Lots of work enjoy.

Refer to post #8 and go a tad narrower on the rear wheel/tire combo. Oh, and most important..........................license plates.

AGREED! Definitely a G***ER!!! All the way!!

  8. Thanks for all the ideas... I like the idea of a hot four cylinder, low and handles like a go cart , but those old style g***ers are hard to get out of your head.
It's going to be interesting to see what the "hot rod" gods have in mind for this one...

Don't do what I did. Fatman front suspension, Chris Alston 4 link rear suspension, Currie 9", new 355 sbc. Don't drive it. Just park it in the back garage for 5 years.

here at G & M Motorsports we built the Quarter Pounder g***er and no way to drive it on the streets.but it does have wipers,t.sig, brake lights etc.but about 3 yrs.ago i seen one at good guys from OK.it had a v6,auto and was streetable and a real nice car.it's up to you but you dont see them on the streets and it would be less expensive:)

Been a few built downunder as 'mini' hotrods with basically stock sheet metal, 1600cc- 2 litre 4 bangers, Pinto OHC, 4AGE etc, 5 speeds, discs on stock front axles or independent front ends out of small cars and rear ends out of things like Ford ******s. There are some 4 banger diffs that will fit under the guards and handle a hot 4 cyl engine. Because the Anglia is so light it'll go like a scalded cat with a decent 4 banger in it.

    Cheers, Glen.

The stupid idiots on "Monster Garage" tried to build a g***er out of one... this group of "NOTED" hot rod builders were unable to work together, got the car 90% finished but couldn't get the blown small block crate motor to fire by the deadline so the project was called a failure.
Jesse James then hauled the g***er to a wrecking yard where a 4 ton block was dropped on it from a crane, the block hit the back of the blower as it came down braking it off and flipping it forward onto the ground and of course the new 700 R4 was crushed as well as everything else... what a waste...

A great handling street machine build would be cool. Unless you're planning to drag race it, why go g***er style?

i remember having a conversation with dave mccauley back in 01 about using a toyota 4 banger and a 5 speed in a anglia , you could have some fun at the import day at the drag strip. ironically , the toyota ended up in my track t , and one of my anglia's had a big block chev and the other was a boring old sbc.....:rolleyes::D would probably still do a small 9x28 slick 4 banger anglia for a drag car ... one thing , my tube ch***is one had the tires under stock width fenders , and was nowhere near as stable as my "so called g***er" version with the wheels and tire hanging out. :D

I've got a 48 Anglia and a shop load of parts, 2.3 turbo injected T-Bird motor with a 5 spd. I plan on a good handeling streeter, just hope I live long enough to get somewhere with this project. It's been on the list to be next for too long.

Gotta be a g***er! put some 285-70s on the back. They look good but still leave you room inside the car. I've got them on my Willys, which is my driver, with 10 inch rims and everybody thinks its prostreet til they look in back.
