I'll be doing Tulsa with 2 cars Doc" Parsons
TWO,well then count me in for 2 too to too too.
So far my club is displaying 3 cars. Right now I am twisting the arms of other members, would like to have at least 5 or 6 club cars. Mine is going in the paint shop tomorrow for a touch-up, will be ready in time for the show!
Come on guys! They need more real cars there. Too many "Pro-Street" cars and wannabe import race cars.
Well, that's that for our Studebaker club! Talked to Cristi today (Starbird show staff), and they wanted us to submit our floorplan for our club display, as well as our "theme", plus show signage and barriers for their "pre-approval" before letting us participate in the show. We also had to gaurantee at least 6 club cars. Oh, yeah - we had to show up Wednesday night to setup. That's kinda hard on members who live in western Kansas to stay an extra day doing nothing until showtime on Friday. Since we were only bringing 4 in (some folks have to work or travel, ya know), we were told that they would put us wherever the heck they wanted put us - as in not together as a group. Didn't sound like much fun being flung to the far corners of a very large 4 room event. So we asked for refunds. Bet they piss off a lot of clubs when they spring these new requirements on them at the last minute. Maybe next year....
I'll be doing Tulsa. ***************************************************************** Like I told the kid, "Your music's not too loud, its just like Oklahoma City, it sucks!"
I'LL be doing the grand national roadster show in pomona , sorry. Mcphail and I are taking the 60 fairlane and the caddy to pomona. to see how we do with the big boys, prolly come home with our heads between our tails, but we showed 'em how we do it in kansas !!!
$16 a person.... too rich for me after what i've seen the last few years. I'll stick to the show automobilia throws. 1000 cars and free to spectators. Plus he's a nice ol guy.
Thanks! I was disqualified from judging for having a for sale sign in my car. I had no idea that was an issue. I guess you have to buy one from the show. I would have been happy to do that if they had told me before Sunday afternoon.
When your car looks low sitting at an indoor car show, you know that it sits right. Your Galaxie is kick ass kool, we enjoyed checking it out. Kinda kool being disqualified from judging, did they give you a disqualifion sticker? Happy Trails, Mick
Yes, duncan, it says in the entry form and acceptance letter that you can't use for sale signs. you have to pay 25 $ to advertise them for sale. sorry, man . sucks to be not elligable.and also you have to unhook battery and tape gas lid or you are booted as well. car looked good sitting there animal style with no ropes around it. just bam in your face !
I guess Im just an old school badass cause I didn't read either of those things. the only thing I put tape on was my for sale sign. Oh well, lots of people got to see it and that was the objective. I wasn't really looking for a trophy. Just representing ANIMAL STYLE! Thanks for the kind words about the car everyone!
