if i lived closer, then my answer would be 'hell yeah!, i don't melt!' i need some new window felt runs for my car and i know the ford guy will be there.
Iam stuck the trailer already parked and two spaces at pomona is not cheap. The rain keeps the cool stuff inside but also keeps the tire kickers at home.
I think i'm gonna Pass and not go .. I'll save more $$$ and hopefully the next one will be packed with sellers .. It usually is after one or two rainouts .. Good luck
Rain! in Califonia? that's rough. we spend 5 months a year with that "Wet-dog" smell up here. course, maybe that's just me!
It wasn't jamned packed but still a good show. Hangin with friends, walkin around lookin at cars and talkin smack. Yes it was a good Day
i went and found some stuff. i think the forecast scared a lot of vendors and buyers because it sure as hell wasn't full. Oh well, more deals for me!
I must be the FNG because I thought there were lots of people there......did notice lots of empty spaces tho... got some junk for the 54 f100. This guy had spray on bed liner on this f100s bed and running boards.....good advertising I guess.
i went found some good stuff and got the merc back on the road laiter that day best feeling in the world
This guy is at every Pomona meet for some time now. Better bring a wagon full of money to buy from him.
went to a small show friday night hit up the broiler in donwety on sat night pamona swap on sunday Jnauary in CA is pure hell
I was there.. This guy with all the valve covers and manifolds is always there, around row 19-22ish his parts are always theres as the prices are a bit more. BUt I guess if you can't find it anywhere else, he's got it. Not Finned Poly valave covers though. This rest of the should is becoming the Chevy power meet, or "LArge Chevy Parking lot with some bettels and corvettes mixed in" Same for the parts. I needed to get some Hot Wheels as I'm finishing round up some cars I need to customize. But the rest of the swap was literally 90% chevy parts. I guess I had my fill of Pomona. And yeah I bitch about it. I used to live less than 3 miles from it when I was younger. The good old days, more cool random brand parts. Going to try the Big 3, Maybe even Turlock. I sure loved the Round Up swap, the stuff was just different. I may go back for the Fathers Day roadster show and swap, that is about it. Same for the Veteran's LBC "Chevy" Performance Swap.
sucks cuzz i went in with an empty wagon and left with an empty wagon. seemed llike their were alot of people, but in reality there wasnt
we were there. got a few things for my 66. I didn't find anyone with buick parts. was kool, first time there.
There wasnt as many cars out there this time at leaset from what i saw. I ended up selling my 61 chrysler. it went back to the previous owner after i finished it up. he was pumped to get it back.
looks like a good aray of parts,i would have walked around with ahard on all day,how much were the hillborn inj set ups going for
i snuck in sat night around 11ish to see what was out and it looked incredibly empty for a sat night. i usually do this, I guess its a perk of living 5 mins away. I did notice some incredibly good deals on cars though. particularly a 48? desoto couple that was gorgeous black, all original interior with a gorgeous dash. car was amazing for 6 GRAND! i really wish it was last month, i totally would have snagged it up.
I used to live in San Diego and would go to Pomona and Long Beach swap meets all the time. Seemed to me that the only the serious guys would come out when it was raining. I have lived in what is basically a rain forest for the last ten years and have to laugh out loud when I hear that people actually change their plans because of some rain. In my 20+ years of going to swap meets, there is nothing like the Pomona auto swap meet and right now it would almost be worth the 15 hour drive to experience it again even if I left with an empty wagon.
Why would anyone want to go to a swapmeet when they can put on their snowmobile suit and go outside and shovel snow in 18 degree weather? I came back inside about a half hour ago and just now can move my fingers enough to type this. Frank
