I need help identifying this horn. I am guessing from the 20's or 30's. I hope my photos came through

Judging by the part number it may be from a 62 Volkswagon, they have a similiar part number on their radiator caps.

my guess is late 20's through mid 30's aftermarket made by meritor (now Arvin Meritor)by what looks like a stylised "M" in the center, they have been in auto parts manufacturing since the beginning or the industry.

Check ou the one on this deuce, similar but not quite it.

That would have been helpful information. Still thinks it's after market, or perhaps from a Motorcycle application.

No way this is from a bike its almost 7". I bought out a warehouse full of parts from both wrecking yard and various dealer stock. LOTS of stuff dating back to at least 1914. Lots of parts from cars I have never seen and I have seen a lot. I love finding these unusual parts but go nuts when I cant ID them

He must have bought every "Doo Dad" in the J. C. Whitney catalog. Even the wheels are aftermarket. I think the horn is an auto parts store replacement. It could have come from Whitney too.

These flat style are called Klaxons I believe. That was/is a brand name of horn at the time but became the generic name as well.

  21. Wrong! The Klaxon is a rotary cam driving the sound disc. Same as an
    Ahooga horn.

Yeah its probably from a bike so listen to the (above) voice of reason here...

and I have one of those, might be just a tad different but same V in the center. Mine probably came off the same line of
Motorcycles that your does. and Yes this is definatly a motorcycle horn. I always thought it might be from an early Vincent but I know little about early bikes.

I'll see if I can scare up a pic of my motorcycle horn and post it up here....
