Please help! I used old gl*** from another 50 for patterns to get new gl*** cut. New gasket lip will not pop all the way around pinch weld when pulling out rope. Ive done it twice, it seems like the gl*** is the wrong size, not big enough. Is there enough difference between one body and the next that the gl*** from another car will be slightly different? I have about 175$ bucks in this and it looks like im gonna have to pony up for gl*** from an alliance vendor on here. Thought I could save money by getting it cut locally. Gasket is Dennis Carpenter and seems to be good quality.

It seems that the gl*** is off just enough that the bottom right lip wont go over the pinch weld. Im so frustrated and just disapointed( not to mention broke). Anybody else expierienced this? thanks ahead for any help

if you hold the gl*** up in the hole without the gasket is there an even gap all the way around?

In the past if the gasket is cold it will not fit correctly. Seems like heat is your friend helps the gasket move. I use mule tape and lots of soapy water good luck
