Do you have any nice car meetings in Germany this coming summer? If so can you give me some date and places to visit? Some friends and me are planning to visit Germany to the summer. We where visiting Roadrunners Paradise Race 61 a few years ago and it was very cool despite the bad whether with heavy rain. We where wet both inside and out hehe. The German beer is a killer.

Does the big Cologne American Car Nationals meet, put on by the Gasoline Guzzlers of Koln, still happen? I went to that show in 1989 and 1990, and had an incredible time there!

Yes, but so far I know they changed the scurity.
I only know it from hearing, but seems like the Bandidos won´t do security this year.
You are not comming with a car anyways, more like visitor, so that doesn´t need to bother you...
There are often heard complains about the cars that are not let in.
So far I know they only want Kustoms and Rods on their place, and a pinstripe on a otherwise Stock car is not enaugh to be called a Kustom....
Google for Bottrop Kustom and you will find a lot of pics.
If you are arounnd there it sure is worth a visit!!!
I would recommend the other allready posted Meets, too.

We Krauts make our Barnparty/BBQ in August, if You'd like to come, its more familiar and small, but we have live music, beer and a good time. Also a place to sleep in the Barn with a sleeping bag on hand, so no nasty tent ups and downs.....entry is for free, beer and food cheap.....

I will bring my –48 Buick if I go but the rumour about car damage concerns me. Otherwise it looks fun.

Larsdk, yeah that’s a good idea. I have heard nothing but positive about Bedrock and maybe its time to made a visit. I see that your date is the weekend before our midsummer holiday so it could work.

The “rustndust” seams like a cool event too but unfortunately I can’t make it that weekend.

Thanks to all for your replies.

That would be a real challenge as you guys over there drive on the wrong side of the road.;)
But seriously it would be fun to visit UK too but unfortunately there’s no ferry line from Sweden anymore. Some years ago you could travel from Gothenburg to Harwich but I think that the ferry company DFDS shut it down sometime in the nineties.

Thanks for the invitation ventilo. Nice pics on your links. This one is a killer and I could use it to get over to Uk :)

If I may recommend you a car meeting in Sweden I will definitely say Swedish HotRod Reunion in Malmy near Strängnäs 23-25 July. It’s 100 % better then Västerås and a little bit closer for you to drive too.

Thanks for the info. The Cologne event was a great show back in the day. I was one of the few Americans there, and met some of the best car people around! My O/T Dodge pickup really drew the interest.

Is there still an American car show in Magdeberg? Went there in August 1990, and my wife and I were the ONLY Americans there, out of over 500 American vehicles there. Quite a show, with the Wall coming down and the end of travel restrictions to the eastern countries, this was the first show of its kind in that city then. Great fun!

Too funny i was one of the founders of this particular event in 1983 but split up with the rest in i think it was '91 or '92. It stopped when they couldnt find another appropriate field to set up.

Yes that was a lot of fun.....
Still have loads of fotos and videos
