I gave up on my last project search of the'59 imperial, now switching gears to a '40's International. It is a "big" truck, maybe 1.5 ton? I have tried searching pics to see differences in the years, but can anyone tell me how to tell the exact year? There is no paperwork with the truck so it's all a guess. Thanks

I dont have them posted yet... just owndering if there are certain tell tale signs to figure it out.

  4. K series International trucks were built from 1940 to 1950. The post war trucks were KB.
KBs had a chrome grille and wings on the front. Early K series trucks had painted grilles without wings.
1.5 ton would be a K-5 series. The cab, grille, hood and fenders look similar to '40 Ford pick up.

Thank you...exactly what I was looking for. I believe this be an early K-series then. It has the painted grill with no wings. It it very solid, has a motor, big spoke style wheels... Doesn't run or move, glass is mostly good, do major dents or damage.... What would be a good offer price? I was thinking around $500-800??

  6. 5 to 8 seems a little high but if it's solid and you like it, what the hell.
Lately, anything Triple Diamond (trucks or parts up to 1954)
is selling for decent money. I got my K-3 in pieces for 300.

I think you are in the ballpark, I'd say 300-600, hard to say without pictures. Heavy trucks generally arent' worth as much as half tons. Good luck - if you do get it, welcome to Binder madness...

I have a 47 KB2. I was told that they were built in a series like tractors, and when they sold they were titled for that year. So a KB could have been built in 1947 and not titled until 1949.

Not sure yet if I want to chop it all up or leave it somewhat complete and maybe put it on a newer chassis... working on a '46 chevy chop right now so I guess we'll see how that ends up
