This is my one favorite 32 ford fordor sedan it was on the cover of rod&custom in June 1955. I believe (correct me if i am wrong) that Bill Walker was in a wheel chair which is why the seat was far back. Lonnie Gaskin later owned it. I want to know more about the car as to where it is now or who owns it. so please fill me in and post pictures.
Whatever man! Ha, obviously a photoshop, and a bad one at that. They never hot rodded four doors traditionally, they were parts cars for two doors. Try again fella.
Originally built by/for Chet Herbert, it was featured in Hop Up, HRM, R&C. Herbert had a 270 GMC with Dynaflow, ran on butane with alcohol injection and hand controls. Very unusual and very cool. When Gaskin had it, the GMC was replaced by a seriously inlaid flathead. First time I saw it, it was owned by kid actor Billy Gray, still flattie powered. Here's a piece of the HRM article, when it was still Herbert's: I think when they had the big "most important '32s" thing at the GNRS a couple of years ago they were looking for this car, but I don't believe they found it.
Every once in awhile you come across someone who is an ***hole in a way you haven't encountered before. Congrats, you just made the cut. Frank
I think it was something called sarcasm, just a guess. Whatever man! Ha, obviously a photoshop, and a bad one at that. They never hot rodded four doors traditionally, they were parts cars for two doors. Try again fella.
The current CKD has an article by Jerry Weesner stating he believes he saw the body at a swap meet in the early 1970's
When I saw Gray driving it, it was in the late '50s. He went on to race Cl*** A Speedway bikes for many years; I don't think he's done much acting in a long time. I saw this very nice sedan at the Del Mar Goodguys show a few years ago, and thought that it looked a lot like the old Herbert sedan. If the body was sold years ago, it certainly could be:
Ha Ha. Okay. I was obviously kidding. Jeez. It's just been all this **** talk lately about four doors, calm down everyone. That is an awesome car. I'm just sayin' one standard's plenty.
So as far as we know the car is not in or close to its original state to the way it was in the magazine. Nice cover up CRASHNBURNS
This brings back memories of a buddies chopped Deuce 4dr in the late 60s. It was imported from Cali. but it burned up in a garage fire along with my 39 Willys in 73. It was full fendered though.
