Yeah, I certainly know I would have never thought that thing would fly out like it did. I at least thought it would give some warning but my brother said that it flew out and he did not even hear it until it hit the ground. Did not even touch the truck except a small nick in his tail light.

It just sucks because I was talking to him 10 mins before it it happened after he left your house and he seemed so positive about the direction of the truck. He was really proud of how far it had came this far.

But as stated before, no one was hurt and we'll get that truck up and running whether it with a new cab or this one (somehow). Just need to pickup and dist off and get ourselves back in the saddle. He'll be back in action in no time!

Not this time though, he got a moving vilation for failure to properly haul blah blah blah so it's on him. Maybe the good lord with give him a break something will shed light on the whole ordeal.

    Probesport, I'm with you!!!

500,000lb airplanes fly with a little wind under them. ;) Sorry for learning a lesson the hard way, glad no one was hurt. RIP little cab...

  6. sorry for your brothers loss. at least nobody was injured and like steve austin, we can rebuild him.
i had a canoe that was roped down to the roof of my 69 holden get caught in a gust of wind. it ripped out one rear door handle that it was tied to. i watched as it came down on the road behind me and smashed.
my dad who passed a year before, built it for me. i still have it even though its still smashed.

Yeah I really couldn't part with that. Perhaps it won't serve as a canoe anymore but something else that you can use or look at.

    Wow- sorry to hear that...:(

  10. theres always a positive in the negative. i guess Mikey B can make a RPU and buy another truck and have two cars.
as for the canoe, it may end up in the garden as a plant holder.

In the State of Washington it is the direct opposite. You get cited right now for not having a load secured and are held responsible for anything that falls off or blows out of a vehicle. If someone hits it you had better hope you have good insurance.

As far as things blowing out of the back of pickups, I've seen a lot of stuff on or beside the roads that blew out of the back of pickups and off trucks. I don't know how many plastic pickup bed liners that I have seen laying beside the road and have been hit on the roof of the 48 by a bin liner (used to carry grapes in an apple bin) that blew out of a bin on a flatbed trailer.

We have all made mistakes when hauling stuff at one time or another and this is one of those mistakes. The bad is that the cab is pretty well destroyed, the good is that no one was hurt that I know of. Let it be a reminder to take a few more minutes an check the loads and make sure things are secure and remember this thread and why we are taking those few minutes so we won't have another one like it.

Good point and no, no one was hurt in thise accident. Some front fender damage to one car and a steering issue (maybe) on another but that's it. Definitely some good things to be thankful for in whole ordeal.

He should take that cab and plant it right in the yard next to the garage door as a reminder to pay attention. Thank God that thing didn't cream some kid on the sidewalk or somebody's Granny walking home from the grocery store or cars dodging the flying cab causing injury and havoc.

Good luck on the project when you guys get over this setback.

Your brother just learned one of the most valuable lessons of life let alone cars. "IF SOMETHING CAN GO WRONG, IT WILL GO WRONG. In my 65 years I've had that one bite me more times than I care to recount. Hope he is able to overcome this and turn out a project even more bitchin than this one would have been.

I took my truck down to the sand blaster the other day. I strapped everything down but two fenders. Lucky for me they stayed put. But from now on everything gets strapped down. Every time.

    Sorry about the cab duder.

Yeah, I have no doubt that he'll have something even cooler in the works very soon or at least when deal arises. And I am sure he's already learned that lesson for the last time.

Passadenahotrod, we have already established that we are all thankful no one got hurt. We realize now that it was an error in judgment and something to take very seriously. But it's not like he intentionally said fuck you to the straps. He took them off and forgot to restrap it back in. Honest mistake that could have been made by anybody. But the fact that you say it like you are with out error makes me confused. Really anytime we take our cars out we have the chance to "cream that kid or that granny getting groceries" and we all try to minimize the risk but you are fooling yourself to think that even if it was strapped in that something else couldn't go wrong. He doesn't need a reminded everyday to realize how fortunate he is and also what he lost. I hope that does not sound offensive.

Yeah Tommy, it's the one you had I think. Not the '34 Mackal had but another one that Jeremy grabbed then sold to me. I think Someone told me it was yours last Wednesday.
