had several ask how it's progressing so heres the update.

funny how plans change from a concept in you're head to when the project actually begins to be assembled.

got the body sections cut out 2 weeks ago and started welding the body together last week and will start working on the floor pans soon. the rear doors will be welded shut. wanted 10" and only could do 7" to make it fit the chassis.

the guys who are helping me thought it may be less time and effort to just make a panel sedan it of the car. l liked the idea so much thats what it's going to be when finished.

no fenders and a 32 ford grille so a hood will be custom made.

black one is what l want my body to look like excecpt for mine will have bright red paint.

The black car is my old car. I traded it for a 40 ford coupe five or six years ago. The rear doors were just welded shut and panels added on the sides.

as of tonight it is a two door sedan delivery.
got the panels welded in the rear windows.:D

now the real work begins. the body work and paint is going to take a little longer than l thought. if l want it to turn out nice l will have to take the time to do it right the first time.

  5. FYI panel and delivery are different, you got yourself a sedan delivery there and I like it.

My Buick wagon made into one and a real 38 chevy.

    Here's my panel truck...

I like your idea! However, please do yourself the favor and use the Plymouth Grille. Dont blend in with the sea of Ford cars.

With that said, if you have a good stock hood/sides your not planning on using, let me know!

Keep up the good work! I am subscribing!

yaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, l have sort of a sedan delivery, coooooool:cool:

l am also searching for a hood, did not get a hood or grille with the car.

    named this build--project:cheapshot

the 32 ford grill/shell are parts left over from a project l sold. almost every part on this car are parts left over from other cars or projects l no longer have. so l decided since l have them, might as well use them.
l would like to use a dodge/plymouth grille but budget restraints will not allow it:(

thanks to every one for the input,

<HR style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #d1d1e1; COLOR: #d1d1e1" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->last night started to to smooth out the top of the cowl. l don't like the vents, they look ugly the way they stick up and disturb the flow of the cowl. smoothing the top will also help the look of the car if l decide to run it without the hood.

here a couple pics of the start of the process. post more pics of the surgery as it goes along.

LOL, I'll bet there's more than one guy on this board that would gladly trade you Plymouth/Dodge grille/hood parts for that '32 grille...that way no $$ changes hands...you've got desirable trading material...

Rolled the car out today and took some pics in the nice wheather. helps keep us motovated to see it in the sunlight.

I know not everyone will like the mustang II style I F S, people here tend to lean toward the straight axle look if you are not running fenders.
and l have been told certain car shows won't allow me to be in them. l can deal with that. just gonna drive it and enjoy the heck outta it.

January in washington and it got up to 50 degrees or so and no rain in sight for the weekend.

Will be filling in the cowl vent next week and start getting the rust cut out and replaced. when the rust is out the other body work can start so we can get it painted before summer. between the doors the post will be flattend so it's a flat panel.
no rear door, just a window.
